General / New McMahon Limited Edition Statues
02 March, 2015, 10:55:36 PM
Hi Guys,
Just wondering if anyone has received their McMahon statues yet ?.
I've pre-ordered the 'line drawing' one and the 'black and white one' and they've not arrived yet...Any idea when they are likely to arrive..?   By the end of March...hopefully ??.

Also can anyone on this forum tell me how to order a 'colour' McMahon statue,  as this is the one I really want, but I cant seem to find any further details about who is likely to be selling it, when they are selling it and where I can pre-order from...
Any help would be much appreciated.
Cheers

General / Trying to find a copy of Marshall Law.
03 February, 2015, 07:51:07 PM
I am interested in buying the first couple of TPB Volumes of Marshall Law.   I've been told that it's in the same type of vein as The Boys and as it's by Pat Mills it's bound to be good...
Anyone out there got a copy and willing to sell ??
Anyone out there who can give a recommendation - good or bad, I'd be much obliged..
Cheers

Help! / How do you 'download' photos onto a thread.
06 July, 2013, 12:08:17 PM
Hi all,
Looking for some help.....

I've a great camera, ( Olympus ) which takes great pictures but when I try to post them here, it always says 'Image too big'. ( Original photo is about 580 KB ), I then end up trying all sorts of things, ( copying, mailing it to myself etc ) but usually end up with a small photo, which even when you double 'click' on it still ends up not much bigger...
I've tried re-sizing it but still can't get a decent image.....How do you guys manage to put such great photos on here ??

I don't have any 'photoshop' programmes on my PC ( which is reasonably new ) but have Windows 7 as standard and Media player etc....

Some advice would be much appreciated......

I hate being an IT 'luddite'.......something to do with age, I suppose... :-[

General / Bob Molesworh Commission MONGROL
05 June, 2013, 03:55:38 PM
Posted this on the 'wrong' thread earlier, so now posting it here so everyone can get a look at my great new addition to my collection.....Mongrol 'On the Run'....

Marchs' art competition winner...Mongrol by Bob Molesworth....
I saw this, ( the winning entry in a fabulous months' entries )  and got in touch with Bob to try and buy it, not realising it was a digital piece .......After some discussion,  Bob said he would do a hand painted commissioned piece,  based on his line drawing from the competition, and it arrived today...

It's absolutely fabulous, I'm delighted,  and I've been trying to get a Mongrol piece for ages...
I've included a link to my Comicartfans gallery where you can see it in more detail and also see the various stages it went through....

Thanks very much to Bob......Enjoy.......Now just have to get it framed !! ...

Hi,
Just discussing on another thread how difficult it would be to replace 'original' artwork and what / how we should place a value on it for Insurance purposes...

The topic of the move from more 'Traditional' style artwork, to 'Digital' artwork came up, and I wondered if any of the Artists on this forum could explain the 'pros and cons' and why they choose whatever route they prefer....
This is in no way intended as a 'pop' at Traditional v Digital art, but just interest from someone who can't draw even a 'stick figure' to save his life......Just a question from a collector who is really interested in the artists' point of view.....Is it a time constraint 'thing' ?, is it 'cheaper' ?, is it easier / harder ? etc...I honestly don't know,  and just wondered.

By the way, I think the standard of some of the artwork I've seen on various threads here ie 'Hot Dang Doodle', or 'Does My Art Look Big In This' and various other threads is simply astonishing, and could easily grace the pages of most of the graphic novels I've seen or the Prog...
Cheers.

Hi,
My brother is selling a lot of his 'original' artwork.

For Sale are the following 'animation cels' featuring.....Scooby Doo, Scooby Doo and Shaggy, Mutley, Dick Dastardly and also Yogi Bear.....
If you are a collector of animation cels then these may be for you !!
Links to each of the pieces below :

Scooby Doo & Shaggy : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912862269
Yogi Bear : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912867202
Mutley :www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912869248
Dick Dastardley : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912870839
Scooby Doo : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912873066
Scooby Doo & Shaggy on Motorbike : www.ebay.co.uk/itm/290912876233

Prices for original animation cels used as character reference ( to make sure artists all draw characters the same ) seem reasonable to me, and would look fabulous framed in a childs' bedroom.... :)
Have a look ....

Hi,
Just thought I'd start this thread after a short discussion on another thread about allowing / not allowing smoking in comics.....I'd only recently discovered that Wolverine, wasn't allowed to smoke, after an editorial directive from Joe Queseda ( due to his own personal standpoint )...Thanks Greg M.

This prompted me to wonder where the members of this forum 'stood' on the issue of censorship in the comic medium....and by this I don't just mean 'smoking'.....although feel free to comment..
Are you in favour of 'limited' censorship ? or do you feel that this is just the first step on 'the slippery slope' towards censoring all that doesn't fall within the term of 'general' acceptibility ?....

I know there are several erudite, and highly intelligent members on this forum so just wondered what your thoughts are on this ?? ...

Hi Guys,
Have just noticed that Planet Replica 'Dredd Helmets' are being changed,  and will now be manufactured in Resin,  so therefore will be slightly 'cheaper' than the fibreglass versions that they sell with the full costume...
However, I see that on ebay there is a prop replica Dredd helmet ( bidding already started ) and it looks like the Karl Urban one from the movie.....Just in case anyone is interested....Think I might have a 'punt' at this myself...What do you guys think of it ??

Hi Guys,
I'm selling these on behalf of my brother, Alastair ...They are genuine,  20+ years old published pieces and he's looking for a good price.....If you e-mail me with an offer I'll let you know what he says....Several other pieces of his are for sale in ComicArtFans website under gallery owner Robert McGregor...Don't know how to put the link to the site here yet ( new to this forum and a complete IT 'haddie' )..
One published Mike McMahon piece from Titan Books : Streets of Mega City 1
One published 2000AD Carlos Ezquerra piece ..Judgement Day ( with Zombies, Dredd and Johnny Alpha ).

Hope you like them, and as I said if anyone interested and has a serious offer, just let me know and I'll get in touch with my brother....Thanks for looking..Cheers
