I have in my possesion a one of a kind print of the original art work for prog 1166. Trevor Hirsine, Dredd, Trapper Hagg. What more could you want? It's a lovely image that's got lots of detail you won't see from the cover. Nice size, it'd look lovely on any wall. Except maybe the local Co-op funeral home.

So, to win said prize you have to say which is your favourite cover and why. Best reason wins it. Winner announced on Sunday.

Those nice people from 'Millenium Comics' of Warrington Market and Northwich are much thanked for providing this prize.http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/1166.jpg">

Why Meg 4.11? It's what made me pick up my first taste of tooth.

Not the best cover in the world, by any means, but a favourite of mine is Prog 244 (Ace Trucking; 'Hit them jackers with the old blazooga biff', etc), for the simple reason that my brother had a picture printed in it, and as a nipper I was well impressed by that.  Subsequently, someone wrote in and complained that he'd copied it (which he had), and he was sent a Rigellian hotshot!  Yeeouch!

I wanted to know why, not how, the robot was crying. Ahh, simpler times.

The best story ever. This is the picture of a man on a mission, taking no shit.
And just look at the size of that bloody gun!http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/469.jpg">

You're after something more constructive then "It ***kin' ROCKS!" I take it?

I like the clear whiteness of the background, really shows off the action contained within. A brilliant character in an action position, not a Men With Guns pose, it relates to the story contained in the prog, the logo fits as well.http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/hires/620.jpg">

Prog 871.

Why?  Firstly, look at the run of covers around that period , including this one: http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/thumbnails/873thumb.jpg">

Quality was thin on the ground, and it was nigh-on the final episode of Revere.  Most strips don't work once the hero ascends from the mortal plane and starts buggering about with infinite power: that Revere worked is testament to Harrison's truly extraordinary work on the final 18 pages.  This image, with Revere emerging from the surface of a mirror, vines growing from his hair but clad in shiny black material and crrying a katana, perfectly summarises the disparate elements of the strip.http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/hires/871.jpg">

The best cover ever, that?s easy. Without doubt it has to be http://www.2000adonline.com/index.php3?zone=prog&page=profiles&choice=74>Prog 74 Dredd & dinosaurs what more could you want when you are 10 years old. This cover instantly became my favourite when it appeared and has remained my favourite ever since even after all these years.

The only cover that came close to knocking Prog 74 off the top of my favourite list was http://www.2000adonline.com/index.php3?zone=prog&page=profiles&choice=669>Prog 669
http://www.2000adonline.com/covers/2000ad/mediumres/669.jpg>
The thing both covers have in common for me is that at the time the future of Dredd was unsure. Prog 74 was at a time when you never really knew if Dredd would survive any of his adventures as you got used to comics folding or merging with others and characters you liked never appearing again. With Prog 669 Dredd had his doubts and was taking the long walk, his replacement ?Kraken? had been judges unfit to serve and the sentence of death that had been commuted for his actions in the Judda attack on MC-1 was re-imposed. Both covers from truly great times in the history of Dredd, but even 25 years after it appeared Prog 74 still remains not only my personal favourite cover but I?d argue ad infinitum that its still is the best 2000AD cover ever.

How have I missed this!

Prog 93

My fave coz it somes up everything I loved about early tooth - people getting killed in interesting ways, horror, excitment, yes and above all THRILL! - and I my parents hated it of course

Prog 473. Lots of reasons...

It's by Brendan McCarthy. my fave artsist, so that's very cool.

It uses a unique and wonderfully dramatic colour palette, helped immeasurably by the dodgy paper stock(!)

But mainly because the image is alluring, hypnotic, dangerous, and also very subversive - everything 2000AD is all about!
