Hopefully most people reading this already know that I sell original 2000 AD comic art pages on behalf of a number of droids as well as my own collection through the 2000 AD Artwork Gallery and that the site now has a companion facebook page.

What you may not yet know is that Nick Dyer now has a self-representing album on the facebook page where he has listed a number of original pages at very reasonable prices.

Best wishes,

A friend of mine has recently started working for a military/historical publishing company and they're considering doing some short graphic novels. It would be a paying gig and possibly involves 24-32 page graphic re-tellings of historical episodes.

If they can get an good artist on board then the artist could have some input into the style and direction, but willingness to represent historical clothing/equipment accurately is key.

If you're interested please let me know by email, facebook or message here.

Cheers,

I've just finished adding a wide range of artwork that I've just bought in, and I've also put prices on some pages in my personal collection, to cover the cost of the full Leviathan's Farewell story (including script), a Dan Dare DPS from prog 4 and an ABC Warriors page by SMS.

Apologies for the image-heavy post. For more pics please go to http://www.2000ad.org/artwork/ and look under Miscellaneous.

Pages include:
The "Get Everything on an Even Keel" page from V.C.s by Cam Kennedy

Strontium Dog and ABC Warriors by Carlos Ezquerra

Judge Dredd and Slaine by Greg Staples

Judge Anderson and a Judge Dredd cover by Mick Austin

Ro-Busters by Mike McMahon

A Feral cover by Nigel Dobbyn

Judge Dredd (both early and coloured) by Ron Smith

A Devlin Waugh cover by Sean Phillips

Bradley by Simon Harrison

My Brett Ewins Major Magnum page is also for sale, plus I've listed several pages from Brett including a complete Future Shock, the cover of Eathside 8...a failed 2000 AD spinoff and most of the Dr. Panic story from the 1979 annual.

I'm happy to put pages on reserve for a month or two if you need to wait until pay day or consider trades.

I recently uploaded several pages to sell on Brett's behalf from the Bad Company 2002 series (progs 1273-1277) to The 2000AD Artwork Gallery. Prices from £180 to £225 (most are £200). Click on the image to go to my gallery of Brett's pages.

After these Bad Company pages are gone I only have prelims.

The owner of this Anderson page by Steve Sampson is looking to sell it. It has been professionally framed and matted and is behind non reflective and UV resistant glass. Please let me know if you'd like to make an offer. It comes from Prog 1049 (1st July 1977).

Best wishes,

Wakefield

P.S. I thought I'd posted this before but I can't see it. Sorry if this is a repeat.

Books & Comics / MOVED: Kick Ass 2 Film

I had a quick look and couldn't see this already mentioned anywhere else.

Tim Piltcher is running a kickstarter for his "shocking, revealing and completely unofficial memoir of DC Comics' legendary London office, to celebrate Vertigo's 20th anniversary".

The kickstarter has already reached its £3,850 funding target, but if it reaches £5,500 in the next 11 days, then the three promotional badges will be upgraded to enamel on silver plated metal by Termight Replicas.

I've uploaded several Brett Ewins pages today

Six pages from Bad Company Book 1 (four have already sold)
Three pages from Rogue Trooper (one marked not for sale but I'd consider a trade)
Eight pages from Judge Dredd: The DNA man
Five double page spreads from Judge Dredd: The Haunting of Sector House 9 (three already reserved)
Two complete future shocks (one 3 pages, one 5 pages)

If anyone would like a page from Bad Company 2002 I have 22 pages from that series which I will sell for £200 each.

Brett would also like to know if anyone is interested in Skreemer artwork. He has all the interiors, but not the covers. I've bought a copy of the GN so if you'd like a page you can send me a scan from that. Most pages will be £100.

I also have a couple of complete stories from annuals, but since I don't want to split them, they will be quite expensive.

Apart from Brett Ewins, I also have some new art in my Misc section:

e.g. Jock Dredd pages and a Frazer Irving Judge Death for £75 each
The final Ron Smith page for £250
A Simon Davis Sinister Dexter for £125

News / BARNEY updated! Props to The Cosh
30 March, 2011, 11:10:18 AM
Thanks to a sterling effort by The Cosh, BARNEY is not only back up to date for the progs and megs, but some of the more recent graphic novels have been added too (mostly the Judge Dredd case files).

Hopefully I'll be able to do some more work on the site over the summer and autumn before I get busy again next winter.

I have an experiment that works fine on my PC, but when the student runs it on her laptop, the videos go black when they have finished instead of staying on the final frame.

The experiment is here: http://www.2000ad.org/psych/cups/ and only works on IE. On the first screen click on the star or the black bar to start, and the black bar between trials.

The code I am using for embedding the video is:

<OBJECT ID="MediaPlayer" WIDTH="480" HEIGHT="384" CLASSID="CLSID:6BF52A52-394A-11d3-B153-00C04F79FAA6"
STANDBY="Loading Windows Media Player components..." TYPE="application/x-oleobject">
<PARAM NAME="URL" VALUE="<?php echo $video; ?>.wmv">
<PARAM name="AutoStart" VALUE="true">
<PARAM name="uiMode" VALUE="none">
</OBJECT>

Any ideas of how to fix it on the student's laptop so the last frame stays visible?

Hi all,

I recently collected some artwork from Brett Ewins to sell on the 2000AD Artwork Gallery. I have a few pages from Future Shocks, Kelly's Eye, Bad Company and Judge Dredd (including one double spread) but I haven't photographed them properly yet. Hopefully early next week.

However, I have just scanned a set of A4 inked prelims for a Batman comic that never happened, and they are now for sale at £30 each.

News / BARNEY back up to date
03 September, 2010, 11:27:14 AM
Thanks to sterling work from The Cosh over the past few days, BARNEY's Prog and Meg databases are now back up to date, and I should be able to keep them that way.

The Corinthian is working on filling some of the ancient gaps (such as the Starlord annuals) but what I could really do with now is someone who has lots of the recent graphic novels.

For each book, I am looking for:

Publisher (i.e. Rebellion)
Title
Publication date
RRP
Cover artist
ISBN

and the titles and source (2000AD, Megazine or Specials) of the contents in order.

I should be able to get the cover image and the main details from http://www.2000adonline.com/books/ but not the confirmed contents.

I just spotted this post on BoardGameGeek and thought in might be of interest here:

Looking for a story writer/texter for a "horror" boardgame

QuoteWe (GamesGuild) are working on a new game and would like to add a story writer / texter to our team. Work will include background texts and stories, as well as card and faction descriptions. Your creativity will flow directly into the game and professional graphics will be based on your ideas.

We are a multinational team spread over the world so communication skills are required to keep us informed about process and timings regularly, so other team members can move on. Since the game will be published in English you have to be an English native speaker to apply. Coordination is done from Germany.

The game covers familiar horror themes with some new and funny twists.
The game is planned to be published online as well as a boardgame. Payment will be on a sales-related basis, but if somebody can prove his/her skills we may pass you on other jobs as well.

If you are interested please send me a PM or an email to roland.weiniger@game-engineers.com - if you can supply examples of work this would be beneficial for our decision.

Do not buy a Judge Dredd badge from justheroes-uk on eBay. He is selling painted resin copies of my licensed Judge Dredd badge, but from the description you might think he is just selling on a badge he bought from me.

His badges aren't licensed.
His badges aren't metal.
His badges aren't gold-plated.
His badges aren't detailed.

Don't be duped. If you want to buy a Judge Dredd badge, you want it to look like this:

Film & TV / Lewis: Dead of Winter
02 May, 2010, 06:39:17 PM
I should be in Lewis tonight (8:30-10:30 on ITV1), along with my daughter, Freya. Look out for her in the foreground when Hathaway arrives at the scene of the crime. I'm a musketeer with a musket rest (monopod).

There's a facebook album of photos I took on the day here (but none of me).

A licensed 3cm x 4.5cm enamel Federation badge is now available to preorder. It will be made from silver plated metal with four colours in hard enamel on the front. The badge costs £6.95 plus p&p and the expected release date is June 2010.

Click on the Federation Logo to go to the Termight Replicas preorder page.

As you can imagine, I'm pretty pleased with managing to secure a B7 licence for something affordable.

I've launched two parallel competition: one on twitter, and one on facebook, each for a gold-plated Judge Dredd badge. At my discretion I'll offer either winner a £20 discount on any of my other products as an alternative prize (for example if the winner already owns a badge).

To enter on twitter, you need to follow me and post the following tweet.

QuoteRT this worldwide and follow @termight by 9pm GMT 10th March for your chance to win a gold-plated Judge Dredd badge. #twitcomp

On facebook you need to 'Like' the relevant status update.

At the moment the chances of winning are far better on twitter than facebook, but you can enter both.

Classifieds / FS: Judge Dredd badges
15 January, 2010, 04:42:00 PM
My new run of Judge Dredd badges are now in stock, and are arguably even better than the first run. I shipped 59 badges today so hopefully reports will start coming in over the weekend.

I should get better photos soon, but here's one taken today.

The badges are £19.95 plus p&p (£1.90 in the UK). You can order one here.

I'm currently talking to Martin Bower about buying a batch of Blake's 7 teleport bracelets for sale through Termight Replicas.

He makes them in batches of 19 so I need to know if enough people are interested for me to go ahead.

The bracelets are made from EMA plastic tube, with brass hinges and specially cast orange Perspex for the light. The the final Bracelets will look identical to those used on the show.

Please post to this thread if you would be interested in a bracelet for £145 plus shipping?
