Judge Dredd RPG Forum

Following the demise of Play Dredd I have decided to create my own forum for a Judge Dredd PBF game. I will be using some rules to guide players in having balanced characters. No need to rush out and buy any version of published games, my rules will be self contained. The rules will be intended to assist players not to restrict them.

The forum isn't active yet, but I hope to be ready to start before the movie.

The game is set in current comic continuity, so Judges will be dealing with the repercussions of Chaos Day. There is a Wordpress Blog that will have some more details on it prior to the start of the game. http://judgetutorsemple.wordpress.com/

I've been thinking for a while about making an rpg in MOO (fancy name for a MUD), the idea is a Fallout style mashed up 2000 AD universe set in the cursed earth MMO. I've blagged an excellent moo core, I will get my shit together and do this soon.

What is this all about???

This Forum is for a Play by Forum Roleplaying Game set in the world of Judge Dredd.

Judge Dredd is a popular character from the weekly British anthology comic 2000AD. Dredd first appeared in the 2nd issue, Prog 2, in February 1977. He has since gone on to be the only character to appear in every issue. He is also in his own monthly magazine called Judge Dredd Megazine and has appeared in a number of books, computer games, Roleplaying Games and two very different films.

We are firmly set in the world of Dredd as shown in 2000AD and the Megazine.

The year is 2134. Post apocalyptic Earth is iradiated following years of war. Much of the planet is radiated waste land but dotted around are cities, huge sprawling cities. One such is Mega City One, covering most of the East Coast of what was once USA. Until recently this was a crammed city of 800 Million. However a virulent desease was released on the city by old enemies from the destroyed East Meg 2. The city is devestated, estimated civillian population is now 50 Million and the Justice Department has been reduced to rougly 60%. More worrying for the Judges most of it's Cadet force, those that will be future Judges, were killed by domestic terrorists during the chaos - roughly 15% of the Cadets survived.

Essential Departments such as PSU, that monitor cameras throughout the city and keep tabs on everyone's comings and goings have been worse hit. PSU is all but gone. The SJS, the Special Judicial Squad, Judges that judge the Judges, were all but wiped out when their HQ in the Statue of Judgement was destroyed.

Chief Judge Dan Francisco resigned and invited Ex-Chief Judge Barbara Hershey to return from her Long Walk in the Cursed Earth and retake the position of Chief Judge.

You will be a Street Judge or a Senior Cadet assigned to Emergency Street Duty. You are Judge, Jury and Executioner!
