I would argue that it is the stallone uniform that looks very cheap and generally "a bit naff", the Dredd 2012 uniform looks like a real riot police/military/SWAT uniform, so much more relevant and convincing for a law enforcer in a future broken society.

I think they've both got their plus's and minus's.

It isn't a good idea to listen to fans, at all. Ever.

I take it you're joking?

Listening to fans just leads to draughty ears.

No, not at all.

Creators should create, they shouldn't pander to the views of extreme fandom, a small minority of people who actually consume creative output.

I couldn't think of anything worse than comics or films produced to appease the vocal fans.

Thankfully, Rebellion, run by the Kingsley's, are fans so we're in safe hands!  :)

The 2012 Dredd film is a film that is entirely faithful and respectful to its source material, it is not an exercise in fan appeasement.

Read the last 19 pages back, if you tried to appease the fans here you would end up with an unholy mess. I have absolutely no problem with Rebellion, who have demonstrated at length a clear love and understanding of their characters and are dedicated to faithfully representing them in all available mediums.

I absolutely loved the 2012 movie, but dialing up the satire this time wouldn't go amiss.  :)

You mean apart from having Sternhammer Block, Minty, Goaty, Radiator, Commando Forces, Joe Soap, Kenny Who? and Chopper namechecked in various bits of signage or graffiti?

Really? Seems to me Dredd has been putting names on the side of buildings for 40 years......

If the makers of Dredd listened to fans they would have shut down production shortly after the first bike and uniform images were released.

Isn't that the truth.  The backlash against early production  shots in that thread were ridiculous.

Goaty

Simple is be fan and give great supportable to the production, and wish them all the best!
