I managed to snag all the additional cards that have come out, so I've got a choice of one survival judge (Dredd), two (three?) diplomats and two psis.

Oh where can you get these additional cards from?  I got the three bonus ones for ordering early. But the extra judges where can you get those?

I would still buy one even at a greater cost :-)  I never seen the book before I must admit.  Ebay throws up some hits but pretty pricey.

General / Art of Brian Bolland Image books for sale

I don't know if this has been posted already but looks pretty cool:

Image Comics have informed me that the cost of warehousing this book exceeds the sales of the book. There are two choices: Either I or someone else could buy some or all of the inventory or they will be sent to be pulped. There are 3,095 copies in stock at $7.78 per book. I thought I might buy 100. I have no warehouse space here or the money to buy or store the whole lot. If anyone wants multiple copies now's your chance. You'd have to do it directly with Image. I could make myself available to sign them if you want. Chris Caira, Scott Dunbier, Joe Pruett, Nick Landau. (The link I previously added below for ordering copies was meant for me alone and at the request of Image I've deleted it.)

Five more games and I'm going to start with an extra protagonist!

You could pretend Mean is having an episode and sides with the law. Or make your own card I guess. Perfect opportunity for an extension pack :-)

I must admit though, not being a gamer as such, I am really enjoying this game. Easy to setup and understand and quick. Added bonus I think is the option can play with yourself ( fnar fnar ).
All round great suff.

I had another game last night, with the correct rules this time. Man it is tough to get anywhere. Before I knew it Anderson was dead from radiation and Dredd followed a turn after. Past that Giant did his best but did not survive another round on his own.

I am thinking that 3 rations is a bit slim for a team. Surely the Judges would have at least 2 rations each. And the radiation, what about their radiation capes.

I am thinking you could start with 6 rations and you have to have 2 more radiation than your health before you die due to the radiation cape :-)

What do you think is that too outrageous a change to the rules?  I don't think it will make the game crazy easy just a bit more chance.

Ah I did a google and saw a couple of vids from the boardgamegeeks webiste.

You only use the perp characters when doing a shoot out in the advanced mode.
I learnt a couple of other things from those vids too so was worth watching.

I got a copy of this. I am not a gamer but like to play a game once in a while with the kids and that.

I have a question though.
I presume you layout the perps with the same number of tokens that you layout the Judges?  I could not find this in the rules.

When I am playing in solo mode I don't know is it alright to play it so you disadvantage the perps so the Judges can catch up.  I found it a dilemma that I was cheating on myself. The perps won anyhow so I guess it makes no difference  :-)

Great game looks lovely and fun to play I really got into it once I got it set up.  Nice to have a game you can play solo too.

Off Topic / Re: The Older Dads Thread
06 March, 2019, 03:15:09 PM
I became a father at 39.  I got 2 kids and now I am 49.
I was not as old as you are now but still older than most around.

One definite advantage was that by 39 I had done a lot and calmed down already a hell of a lot compared to my 20's and most of my 30's so giving up some nights out was not so much as a drastic change as it was if I was younger.

But all I can say is it changed my life in a positive way. As long as you just jump in and go for it. If a child is what you want they just throw your all at that for now. I will be honest the first couple of years can be a bit tough but they pass and with every month it gets easier.

The age comparison thing crosses my mind also I will be 50 next year and my kid is 10.  When I was 39 I thought that was going to be crazy but to be honest if anything the kids have kept me younger physically and in my attitude to life in general. I thought I was going to be shit at it but having that great imagination you talked about is only going to be a bonus and make you a great Dad.

We are built to have kids like all animals. It is the most natural thing you can do. Just do it and take it as it comes. I think you will find it easier and less worrying if you live in the moments that come with your child.

Best of luck and go for it man it really is an experience of a lifetime :-)

Announcements / Re: 2000 AD - The Ultimate Collection

I noticed that the single issues are selling out really quickly on the hatchette site recently. Do you think they are printing less extras or has it just risen in popularity?

Living abroad I just cherry pick what I want from here, works ok so far but worried I might miss out on a couple if I am not quick on the click.

Bradley

I have a slim GN of Bradley, I have not read it for some years but something with an Ice queen in it. Not sure if this is the only story but it is an entertaining read.

Also a cherry picker, and needing to know whether to wait for future volumes when ordering my books from Hatchette (to get the free postage) or just get them straightaway. Apart from vol1 in Asda I've yet to see any of these on sale in an actual shop (in Perth).

Same as that, but Belgium.

Yeah I enjoyed it. The first episode is no mark for the rest of the series. I have never read the comics so can't compare to that but as a TV show it was good stuff very entertaining. A bit too much violence for me but not too crazy. Couple of nice plot twists that take you to the end of the series.  I would recommend it if you liked the other Marvel netflix stuff. I enjoyed the Jessica Jones and the Luke Cage so would put it on a par with them.
