Another victory in the hard left vegan Leninist cucktard sharia law SJW cultural Marxist purge of the straight white male from all creative media.  Next they'll be hunting us like dogs and we won't be safe in our own homes.

Sure, because white men don't control 99% of all media companies anyway.  Give me a break.

The fast balls all go by ya kid

I thought 'Death of a legend' was up there - another painted by Pete Doherty.

I took it as fitting-in with the usual megafied tweaking of names and sayings by Wagner & Grant: no skin off my nose/no skin off my chin, God/Grud, Murphy/Morphy–Murph/Morph.

That would be my take on it.

This thread has just reminded of the series in Crisis called 'Sticky Fingers'. I remember thinking at the time that I wanted to like but just couldn't. I don't think anything really ever happened in it.

It's outcome would also depend on what it was fought over: independence seems a bit after-the-fact since it could be argued national fragmentation had all ready happened in 2070, and Mega City Two seemed to secede and go autonomous without a schmozzle, so it could be a conflict over share of resources, jurisdiction boundaries or the production of hats.

Texas city might be using mutants as slave labour and MC1 uses this as an excuse to go to war and take some of their resources off them.

I think it was first mentioned in the first Luna-1 story, in which it was a signitory to the Luna-1 treaty under the name of Mega-City Three. The retcon to the name only appeared in an annual text feature I *think* and so has never made it into the actual strip.

Sure I've read (possibly in an annual feature) that it was planned to be called Mega-City Three, but there was resistance.  There's also that McMahon gatefold cover, 'a scene from the civil war' (paraphrasing the title slightly).

...or I could look it up on Barney, which only took a minute or two:

Prog 169

A scene from the civil war in post-atomic America.

I had the impression the war was between TC and MC1, but there's nothing conclusive in that picture.

Well Dredd in blue Uniform is shooting at Judges in grey uniform carrying a flag which has a very similar design to the confederate battle flag. I think you can infer quite a lot from that.

Would have thought the saint of killers 6 shooters would be in there somewhere. Actually since they never run out of ammo I suppose infinity shooters would be more accurate.

I think there was someone who was reminiscent of robin day in the power tower blowing up episode.

I am currently teaching at a college in the middle east and a colleague started teahing an elective course called 'comics and culture'. I donated a big pile of megazines and floppies (reluctantly) to help with the course material and it turned out that the arab kids love them as they have never seen anything like it before.

Seemingly the sinister/dexter floppies are among the most popular.

Some of the other tutors have started reading them as well. Hopefully have made a few converts anyway. :)

Brigand Doom was not awful I suppose but thinking back now I have no idea what was going on in it.

So far I've only read the most recent Indigo Prime story - the one with
Christhulhu
. Is that the offensive bit? Personally I loved it and can't wait for more.

I forgot to mention The Straitjacket Fits over in the Megazine. Dire. Sorry Bish-Op, but stick to novels.

Yeah, despite a long tradition of mixing dark humour with the SF and action, 2000 AD and the Meg don't have a great track record when it comes to out-and-out comedy stories.

I quite liked the Balls Brothers

The stuff I enjoyed the least (including some Megazine stories) is:

Angel
Death Planet
Colony Earth
Valkyries
Space Girls
Wire heads
Time house
Revere
Time Flies
Soul Gun Warrior
Soul Sisters
Babe Race 2000
Non Wagner or Grant Robo Hunter
Bob Byrne's Twisted Tales
Wireheads
Calhab Justice
Leatherjack
Indigo Prime

Now I'm not saying they are bad, just that I don't really enjoy them.

And for anyone who has been following the review thread, I haven't put The Order in the list - it's not that I don't like it, just I find it hard to follow, but still think there is a good story underneath it which I have yet to uncover.

I would add Trash and Dead Meat to that list.

I don't think anyone liked Bison.

There have been a few absolute stinkers over the years.
