According to Bledingcool.com this morning Lena Headey plays "Madeline Madrigal, aka Ma-Ma"

A story they picked up from this board!

I love the way the Intranet consumes itself like a snake consuming it's tale.

Would have been good if there was a Judge Kwan rather than Judge Chan. A nice little not to the Apocalypse war.

I respectfully disagree; wether it is a nice nod or not depends on what Judge Chan's role in the movie actually is.

If he appears as an ordinary judge who acts as backup for Dredd or something like that, then yes, it's a nice nod.

But if he on the other hand is
one of the corrupt judges in the script
, which I think he is, it would be anything but.

That sort of namechecking for what could be a
random corrupt Judge who appears on screen for a single digit amount of minutes
precludes putting the actual character to much better use in a potential future sequel.

Same with Judge Guthrie, if he also is
one of the corrupt judges
rather than the Guthrie of Wally Squad fame we know from The Pit, I don't think that's a nice nod either.

I'd rather they stay with random names for random characters rather than diminish the names of actual characters who made a genuine impact in the comic.

I fully agree. The way Judge Dredd '95 had every chief judge ever on the council of five was a prime example of how, really, NOT to do it.

Also in the cast:

Patrick Lyster
Rachel Wood
Wood Harris
Nicole Bailey
Domhnall Gleeson

Wood Harris? Awesome. Avon Barksdale and Dredd together at last  :D

I hope somewhere in the film, this scene can be reused: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q6cyDsuNx_U.

You're wasting hope in every possible sense.
