Si Spurrier's Dante would probably have even more sex, use even more future-nonsense swear-words, Jena would be a sexy fembot, and at the end of every head-befuddling adventure it turns out that every single character has double-and-triple-crossed every other character several times - Dante would still eventually come out trumps, but by that point no-one quite understands how, or what's happened.

In Ian Edginton's Dante the Red and White Reiver armies would come from Mars, and be planning to launch some imminent invasion of Earth.

The Tsar and Dmitri would probably be involved with the masons, somehow, and Konstantin would curently be incased in a big clanky suit that's all hissing pistons and smoke-spouting funnels rather than his sleek chrome job.

I found the Starborn Thing quite creepy, thinking back on it. One of my very favourite Dredds.

Yeah, Shok was surprisingly suspenseful and just generally really well executed.

I remember a Tale of Telguuth about a guy being granted eteranl life, then having his arms and legs chopped off by a demon who then bricked him alive into the wall of his house, telling him that within a few years he would soon go mad and start screaming in his dark little prison for ever and ever. For some reason it made me really uncomfortable.

Also the opening episode of Necronauts where the spirit medium pulls his face in half and becomes posessed by something dark and nasty, that was quite creepy.

Alan Moore:

Peak - Halo Jones III, of course!
Trough - Buzz Off, prog 331. Wow. Hard to believe he wrote that.

My old uni housemate is in the Sealed Knot (a pikeman, if you're interested). Many were his stories, but none were death or even serious-injury related... so I don't think it's all that common, DXB.

Poor Shenker - these days he must be constantly battling with the accounts department against having his funding withdrawn.

Books & Comics / Re: Thrill Power

I plumped for Strontium Dog Search/destroy files 1 and Nemisis the Warlock Vol.1.

Will this be enough thrill power do you think? Seeing as I am pretty much a virgin to both stories.....hope I'm not dissapointed!

Arguably tooth's greatest stories outside of JD. Fast-paced, high-octane, unashamedly pulpy fun that arrives on the page pretty much fully-formed.

Nothing really to say to this, is there?

Genuinely unbelievable - but good on her all the same.

I laughed recently to see that the Absolute Watchmen volume, which I bought for the cover price of £50, was fetching variously between £500 and £700 via the Amazon private sellers!

I'd be tempted to sell it but I'd miss the book too much.

Allows artists to bring a little bit of themselves into the Meg in their unique uniform interpretations, which I for one look forward to seeing.
