Help! / Is seven inches enough?
« on: 20 July, 2012, 04:26:40 pm »
I have just been given some vouchers at work - a bit like a commission type thing. So far I have £340 with another £220 to come.

Now, I want to get a tablet. I'm thinking iPad because of the larger screen but something like the Nexus 7 is half the price.

But is that screen at 7 inches enough? I want it for comic reading, drawing and web stuff mainly. Basically, do you think an extra £200 for an extra 3 inches worth it?

I know a lot of you get the prog digitally and I'm pretty sure I remember some of you use one for sketching etc. which is why I reckon you're the best people to ask for advice!

There seems to be some confusion as to this being real or not. http://www.noteslate.com/
Looks pretty good if it is real. Would an e-ink tablet be a better drawing device than an ipad or suchlike? I'm still amazed by my kindle, being able to draw onto the screen would be pretty good, even if only in one colour.
And at the price it's been quoted at I want one.

Just a quick question that I hope one of you clever people can help me with.

This might seem silly but what are the basic settings for drawing in Photoshop/Gimp etc. using a graphic tablet?
I have got an old Trust wireless tablet which seems to do the job but I don't know the basics. For instance what mode should I be in, what canvas size and what resolution? I can't seem to find the answers anywhere else and I know you guys know what you are talking about.

Thanks in advance!

What's the best bit of art you've ever seen in 2000AD or The Meg?

For me the first one that springs to mind will always be the final (I think) Bolland strip on Block Mania where Dredd fights Orlok.

Perhaps we have been spoilt by so much good art over the years and it is hard to pick some over others.

Just seen the DVD for this while browsing around Woolworths.

Never heard of it before - has anyone here seen it?

If so, is it worth getting?

The trailer doesn't seem to give much away.

Books & Comics / Advice please on something to read
« on: 08 February, 2006, 01:11:12 am »
Been filling my spare time recently reading some graphic novels that I have never (for some reason) got round to reading before - such as Watchmen, Dark Knight Returns and Losers 1 - 4.
Anybody got any recommendations for something (old or new) that should read next?
Nothing from 2000ad - I've read most of that and I'm trying, for once, to catch up with other stuff.

Last week I put my prog 2 up for sale.

While browsing tonight I find another one on there listed, at first glance, almost exactly the same.

For some reason it's annoyed me.

Does this happen much?

What would anyone like to see come back as a new tv series? We've had Battlestar Galactica and now Doctor Who, what about Prisoner or Space 1999 (maybe 2099 now)?

Me,I wouldn't mind seeing Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine one more time, even Blake 7 could be fun. I wonder if it would be wise to bring these and others back or leave them in the past and move on?

General / Total War recap please
« on: 16 September, 2004, 02:16:32 am »
I have only been buying 2000ad for the last six progs after a year long break. This Total War story seems like it will be all well and good but I need a bit of a recap about what the story is going to be about.

I never read the Terror story that seems to be the start of it. Or is it? I'm all confused.
