Website and Forum / 2000ad app problem on Android tablet
« on: 08 April, 2019, 08:31:16 PM »
I read my 2000AD content digitally on my Android tablet but recently it has been comlaining about running out of storage space. I have tried cleaning it up and deleting stuff but there is a mysterious few GB in usage somewhere and it is not as easy to manage this kind of thing on the device as it is in Windows.

As a solution, I decided to do a factory reset. After this, the first thing I did was to choose to make the SD card the default location in the storage options since it has higher capacity than the internal storage and is easier to manage. I then re-installed my apps.

All apps work fine with the new set up except the 2000AD app. It installs and runs fine but if I try to download a book I get the following message:

An error occurred connecting to the 2000 AD Store.

FileNotFoundException - /storage/f623-bbe1/android/data/com.rebellion.app2000ad/files/downloads/prog2125.tmp (No such file or directory)

I think the app is trying to use the internal storage instead of the SD card. I can see that the folder does exist on the SD card. Can anyone offer any help to get around this?

Website and Forum / 2000AD Windows 10 App
« on: 10 March, 2016, 07:59:05 PM »
Hello, I have just installed the 2000AD Windows 10 app and can not log in to my account. A comments on the store page shows someone else has had the same problem.

I just thought I would bring up the problem here on the forum so others can say 'me too'.

General / Why is non-Wagner/Grant Dredd good now?
« on: 23 January, 2016, 10:15:42 PM »
I was just wondering this.

From the case files so far it is clear that once John Wagner and Alan Grant reduced their Dredd output and other writers took over things did not go so well. Garth Ennis gradually got better and did some good stuff but from the Case Files alone I would think that Dredd writing is like Dan Dare. Only Frank Hampson could do Dan Dare well and the strip suffered when others tried to do it.

Moving forward to the prog and megazine (which I have only taken up about a year ago) and all the non-Wagner Dredd is very good stuff. Michael Caroll is a name I like to see on the credit box as much as I used to look for Boland and McMahon as a kid, and the Trifecta story from a couple of years back is top quality stuff also.

How is it that writers can do a good Dredd now but couldn't in the past? Have Wagner and Grant produced any kind of 'guide to writing Dredd'?

Welcome to the board / New member - hello!

Hello! I read 2000ad from about 300 to 600 as a child and have recently started to get back into it from getting some JD Case Files. Reading it as an adult I can see there was a lot of humour in it that went over my head as a youngster but now makes it a joy to re-read this stuff.

Sam Slade was my favourite character after Dredd so I will be looking out for the reprints of that too. I have read that they bought Sam back years after the original run but it wasn't as good as the Ian Gibson - TB Grover era. Is this true or is it worth looking out for the later stuff if you loved the original?

Strontium Dog was also great until Alpha was killed off but I have seen he has been brought back somehow.

It looks as though there is loads of stuff out there, thanks to rebellion, so this makes it easy for my family to come up with something for birthdays and xmas.

Hello everyone!
