Andy Lambert - Mr Christmas himself! I was lucky enough to get a sneak peek at the spot the difference a while back, it’s brilliant! All of his other creations ar egenius too!
Allistermac - Making Nemesis the Warlock into Nemesis the Adorable. Brilliant!
Bolt/Robomonkey - Wonderful stuff! Looking forward to reading the rest!
Steve G - Brilliance x 2!
Mr Long - A nice bit of Christmas sauce!

Thanks everyone!

So, my tuppence worth:

First place: Greg Staples (2019) As others have said, simply an iconic image from a truly amazing painter. A masterpiece.
Second place: Alex Ronald (2016) Lovely and bright, channeling his inner MacNeil (even though he was meant to be channeling his inner Robin Smith!)
Third place: Clint Langley (2013) It’s a nun in a gas mask. Any questions?

Honourable mentions: Jake Lynch (two Great Dredd covers,) JOHN McCrea and Matt Fergusson for their excellent Mechanismo covers, Dave Kendall (Fear), Cliff (everything!) D’Israeli for the ships coming through the smoke on 2032, Chris Weston (Pin), INJ Culbard (Eye in the Sky), Neil Roberts (2 stunners this year!) Karl Richardson (Demonslayer,) Trevallion (incredible consistency,) Luke Preece (2048 Dredd, loved it!) and Simon Davis (all the buggers!)

*Blush* You’re right Steve. If only there was some kind of credit box and two different panels that made it more explicit!  :-[

My review is over on the 2000 AD and beyond site here: https://2000adandbeyondsite.wordpress.com/2017/12/10/2000ad-prog-2061-review-2/

For my own amusement, I've compared each thrill to a Christmas song to give an indication of my thoughts and enjoyment of each!

I left the Starlord story last because I'm going on a rant.
I hated this story.
I hate this story with a passion.
I am one of the old guard. I was there at the start of 2000ad and I was there at the start of Starlord. I read both and I enjoyed both. And as such I despise the hatchetjob that Kenneth Neimand has done on Starlord and to a lesser extent on Tharg himself. Neimand would have been much better advised to do a tribute to a character from the founding days of British sci-fi comics instead of what twisted take he came up with. I am not a fan of retconns but this was on a whole different level.

I may be wrong, but with the nostalgic vibe I kinda assumed that Kenneth Neimand is Keith Richardson. I really enjoyed the Starlord story, the radicalisation angle made me chuckle.

Hooray! Now that we’ve had all of this year’s glorious 2000AD covers, it’s time for the annual cover of the year vote! You can see all the covers here, and of course, click ‘em to enlarge ‘em:

I'd like you to CLEARLY list your THREE favourites, in order. THREE points will be awarded to your fave, TWO points for second and ONE point for third. Please try and be explicit with this and maybe give a little comment to say why you chose each cover as it makes it a bit more interesting for the rest of us!

The closing date is midnight on Tuesday 2nd January 2018...

A Meg thread will be along shortly...

Rian Johnson said that there’s certain things they’ve chosen to share and things that they have categorically kept out of the trailer - which is obvious I suppose. Mark Hamill has also asked people not to spoil the film.

I have a really good feeling about it and can’t bloody wait! 8 days and counting!!!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas, thrills in every store! Oooooooh, it's here, the highlight of the year, welcome to the eighth 2000AD Advent Calendar 2017!!!

Last year, we kept this thread comment free and full of juicy Christmas Thrillpower so I'll start a new thread for comments here: The Comments thread!

Right! December 1st and this year, in the spirit of Band Aid, Armand Assante and I decided to record a Charity Single. The charity is the dear old forgotten perps of Mega City One. "Forgotten?" I hear you ask? See, in the last two years, the perps haven't really had a look in in the Dredd strip thanks to the sheer number of stories featuring foreign, bent, secret and/or ridiculous invisible judges in Mega City One.

It's a problem! Hidden judges are in the walls of the halls, in a frigging cupboard in Hershey's office and there was even a whole sector of the buggers that no one had a clue about! It's insane! On top of this, the last two years have seen trouble with Sov Judges, Texas Judges, Irish Judges, Brit Cit Judges, Mechanismo Judges, Judge Cal(s), Judge Fish, SJS Judge Pin, Accountancy Judges(!) Titan Judges & Eldster Judges! Sheesh!

Armand and I felt really sorry for the poor perps of MC1 who aren't getting ANY action at the minute so all Creds raised from this single go to them. Apologies for Armand's singing, he's a little out of time on occasion, as I kept telling him, "We can't ALL have the voice of an angel..."

You'll see the video here:

"Check the Walls" https://youtu.be/ZKMXaRYQdOc

Thanks in advance to everybody who signed up to the calendar, I can't wait to see what you come up with! Also, a massive thanks to all the folks who've contributed to the board this year, you all make my day, even the ones who have tantrums over my art comp entries! Real life means I can't get on here as often as I'd like but I do try and catch up at least once a day.

Also, here's my back catalogue of shite 2000AD Christmas films - absolutely dire!
