Fantastic - 👍🏻 well done to all the organisers I can’t imagine all the work that goes into organising these events.
Looking forward to the weekend & trip down.

Before someone picks me up it should read that Tharg is a wise Quaxxann not a man. I hope the Almighty one can forgive me for this slip up. I am only a man😔

I tell you reading 2000AD is like reading a modern Nostradamus- in a 1000 years (if any human life is left) they will look back to these “Dark Ages” and say The almighty Tharg was a wise man and he fore told of things to come 😄

Excellent news.
It would be good to see more of the “lesser” known characters/ stories picked up to open up the tooth world to a new audience and show what a varied catalogue there is to explore.

I like the latest figure offerings for this game especially the generals. Will need to save some hard earned pennies for them though as trying to save for lawless as well. Do much I want with so little finance 😔

Help! / Re: Advice on getting rid of old 2000AD comics
« on: 06 March, 2019, 02:12:47 pm »
If I had a man cave I would make a feature wall with various strips from various years of the prog - just waiting for ma boy to move out and it could come true 😀.
Or on the same lines if you have kids at primary/High school you could cover their jotters or binders with some appropriate stories. It might make them look cool amongst the marvel or Dc covers?

Film & TV / Re: Umbrella Academy- Netflix

Finished this at the weekend and really enjoyed it.
Some interesting characters who were just finding themselves and I agree what others have said regarding the end but then I thought if it doesn’t get picked up for season 2 (which I would watch) I’ll just log the ending alongside another unresolved question - the final scene of the original Italian Job*

*not comparing the whole film to the series just the last scene and do they ever get out of the fix they are in? 🤔

Books & Comics / Re: Musing About Signed Comics
« on: 28 February, 2019, 03:45:48 pm »
I agree that the signature doesn’t add value for me it’s more of a tag to remind you of the day you met and thanked/chatted to your fav droid. This is especially true when I’m doing re reads of my collection. I’ll probably continue to meet and ask for a few signatures or sketches which I’m willing to pay for as watching the art droids at work is a wonderful thing.
As long as I don’t hit hard times I’ll never sell these items, there my treasure 😀. However Tjm86 does raise the point regarding what our loved ones do with our “shite” once we’re departed. Is there much value to the bits of paper filling our shelves and cupboards?
Speaking to my mate about his football program collection (where he’s spent a small fortune and hoping to supplement his pension by selling it off eventually) he realises that there is only a limited fan base for certain collections and collecting fashions can go up or down so for him what was a hobby has now become a share portfolio. How large and diverse in age is the 2000ad fandom?
Back to my question what value will our collections be worth in 20-30 years - will they be classed as heirlooms for our kids or just more stuff for the skip 😔.

After being sidetracked with painting the planet replicas McMahon Dredd, I finally started the Strontium Dog figures and when the are all in front of you it’s quite a daunting prospect and I thought I hope they don’t release any more soon! Then they tease this week that coming soon are the “Kreelers” set 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I don’t know how many more they will produce for this set but I’m hoping they will expand into a Rogue skirmish game in the future 🤞🏻🤞🏻
