I forgot to say: a fitting ending for Brink.

I really liked Dredd, although I do wonder whether the ending might confuse new readers.

He should have got twenty years' hard labour.

That doesn't seem like a fair criticism of Dredd to me. I didn't get the impression that the whole story was just a set up for a punchline. It's a legitimate story in its own right, with a quip at the end because that's how these sort of stories typically end.

Help! / Re: Judge Death appearances

The recent poster prog is new.

I think Death is in one of the Plagues stories, but not the others. Those stories were so bad that I'm not willing to look at them again to make sure, sorry!

Books are way better than people. But also, books are written by people. I am still confounded by this enigma.

Alan Grant's humour in his Anderson stories just isn't funny; ditto Samantha Slade. His humour in some other stories, however, is hilarious, and Lobo: The Last Czarnian is brilliant. I don't know why this is.

His serious Anderson stories, on the other hand, are some of the best stories I've read in comics. The storyline discussed above is certainly one of them. My favourite of all is Triad, which is a masterclass in storytelling, and also marks the increasingly mature tone of the comic around that time (1989).

I agree with all of that. I would add that Ranson is my favourite Anderson artist.

This is a very good prog. The Dredd story ended perfectly.

Quote
I'm not sold on the 'Imaginary friend stealth and weapon ops' bit at the end.

I am. Firstly, it's just a joke, it's not as if we'll actually be seeing that as a permanent new squad in Justice Dept. Secondly, it makes perfect sense in the story: that is precisely what the Judges would do next.

Brink is action-packed, and I liked the new use for the hate box.

This week's Feral & Foe is a self-contained story, and a good one. I didn't like this series at first but I've warmed to it now. I'll probably re-read the first episodes later.

Proteus Vex is eventful.

I'm saving ZZ for later.

Imagine Game of Thrones with non-CGI dragons made of plastic. More money = better.
