Last one of the year... (unless we do another, in which case you'd probably need to follow our patreon at https://www.patreon.com/holdenreppion )

I still feel dirty for watching it though.

in a rare instance of two wrongs making a right - the best way to fix this is to watch a pirated copy...

Read about it on the patreon (it's free, but if you want to read the comics early, you can subscribe that helps us too!)

General / Re: Block Names
« on: 30 November, 2019, 06:11:48 pm »
Is there a list anywhere of mega city block names from the stories of Judge Dredd?

I met a guy in the pub and we got talking about comics and he told me he met a Dredd artist in Belfast a few years back and the artist said he might put his name in the background of a panel, I am just curious if it ever happened.

If it ended up as a bit of graffiti it might never be found, but if it was actually a block name there might be a chance of identifying it, if it exists at all.

thanks
james

Well, I'm just gonna say: if this was me, I've totally forgotten about it, sorry unnamed block guy!

Yes. they're all who you think they are. Nope, John did not ask that I do this - rather I did it because it seemed fun to me.

think so. Plenty of time ahead, but yeagh, John's writing essays, and I';m hoping we'll either kickstart or find a publisher, ideally in an overlarge coffee table book size :)

AT LAST THE TRUTH ABOUT VRILLON!

PET HATE - INCORRECT form of apostrophe in contraction: should be ’
(sorry jim!)
Pet-hate alert - Half the speech bubbles (in the sample, at least) are missing punctuation.

Also, an ellipsis … is three periods, no more, no less. Most lettering fonts have a typesetting character for the ellipsis — on a Mac you get it by hitting ALT-semicolon. On Windows, not so sure — last time I used a Windows machine, accessing typesetting characters like this was either a quick round trip to Character Map to copy and paste, or typing ALT+some not very easy to remember four-digit Unicode number.

It's worth using the ellipsis character over just typing three periods because the periods are spaced for precisely this use case, and in many fonts, they're actually designed to give a slight variation between each period and look less mechanical than just typing them out.

If you haven't had a chance to watch it through legal means, you could always just watch Samurai Jack until it becomes available.

Ah, like a fool I decided I wanted to get the entire thing drawn before I start asking for cash so there’s no links to send anyone yet. Surprised you missed me talking about it, pretty sure I was bleating on about it endlessly for a while... ( right here, in fact https://forums.2000ad.com/index.php?topic=45884.0 )
