Possibly the thing I like the most about it is that the paper isn't glossy.

Well that's the best news.

Yes, I much prefer that.

Fingers crossed for a Strontium Dog Agency Files with colour spreads...

I think Harrison/Hicklenton alternating on Nemesis would have been interesting.

There'd already been the leap from O'Neill to Redondo, back to O'Neill and then Talbot but both of those less comics code bothering than Kev.

The grotesque nature of the strip would seem like a more natural fit than Strontium Dog, a strip where Carlos had firmly established his style.

There's an old thread here - I liked Simon's ABC samples in particular, and there was a great Slaine too.

I have Region 1 DVD's of all 3 Despecialised and these are legit. Had them awhile. Think they were released around the time the first of the prequels came out. They also have the correct soundtracks.

Those are from the Laserdisc masters I believe.

The Despecialised ones are fan efforts to restore from better sources.

I've seen a 4K one, and it's very good quality - there are 2 versions, one with a light grain removal, one without.

There was also another project with some guy actually reshooting extra scenes/miniatures for Empire - no idea what happened to that.

If you're after coloured versions of b/w strips - these are pretty good. The definitive edition range.

Can't remember how many there are, but I've seen these so far.

Bad Science
Metal Fatigue
Hall of Justice

I've enjoyed the last couple of weeks of liberal fanfiction in the Guardian describing how the Queen is going to step in and stop Brexit any second now, but I must say the punchline just before the Curb Your Enthusiasm theme kicks in was a bit depressing.

Maybe they were thinking of the 2012 Olympics opening ceremony?

I don't think Zenith sounds like Rick Astley - he was a rather awkward and shy guy who had an amazing singing voice, Zenith seems more like Stefan Dennis (a soap opera actor given a record contract because that was the fashion of the time) or that bloke in the boxer shorts from that jeans advert. I think Zenith's voice is probably quite low down in the mix.

Nick Kamen (caught Madonna's eye, IIRC).

Zenith's actual voice would definitely not be uppermost!  I think of him more as a male Kylie though - because later he has that Madchester / slightly more respectable phase once KM got shot of SAW.

The McCarthy concepts in the back of the collected editions describe him as a mixture of Morrisey and Nick Kamen.

Cheers,

Yeah, it definitely would.

More feasible than MC:1 on a budget too.

For those who don't do FB, I cut together a trailer using the same edits (more or less) as the Mandalorian one, but used similar shots from Minty and Strontium Dog...

It was quite funny seeing stuff line up...

They obviously have talent, would be nice to see him team up with someone with some VO experience.

Cheers,

yeah works well as an animatic type deal.

There's a part 3 and trailer up on the same channel.

Not much 'happening the other side of Offa's Dike either.  Mr Goddard fetching over to Bristol rather than Cardiff doesn't really augur well.

Down to NICE con I expect, a few of the people who would normally be at local events are there.

More the "something I bashed out from a frame grab from the short because we were too busy to take stills" ;)

Not sure if me showing the same imagination as Disney is a plus or minus...

I think the Mandalorian trailer should be out today.
