Off Topic / Re: The Political Thread
« on: 18 September, 2015, 08:29:58 PM »
Is it really possible to be left and right wing at the same time?

Someone told me once that supporters of the political philosopher Hegel split into two opposing groups. Young Hegelians (or Left Regelians) and Right Hegelians. These two groups are supposedly where the term Left Wing and Right Wing come from. If the two groups of his supporters had such opposing ideas, would Hegel have entertained both left and right ideas? *

*Or I am just talking rubbish?

They'll be shooting at Skellig Michael again soon for Episode VIII (much to the chagrin of wildlife conservation groups).

Is this confirmed? Because holy shit did I love the Gamma one-shot.

EDIT: Weird, the (collected from Dark Horse Presents) Gamma one-shot is no longer available for sale via the Dark Horse digital comic store (though previously purchased copy is still mine to download). I wonder what's up with that?

From what I sussed off his FB page, the rights have returned to him and he is preparing a new cover for a reprint from another publisher.

New Vertigo series by Rob starting in November:

UNFOLLOW #1

Written by Rob Williams, art by Michael Dowling, cover by Matt Taylor.

A dying social media mogul leaves his billions to be split evenly between 140 random people--or however many of them are still alive at the moment of his death. Williams and Dowling assemble a cast that includes a young black man trying to get by in St. Louis, an Iranian reporter in need of hope, a retired special forces soldier with a strange sense of purpose, and a thrill-seeking heiress, in this thriller that shows we're all still part of the food chain.

Gamma #2 by Ulises Farinas for 2016, hopefully.

Depends on how well his Patreon campaign goes I suppose, he do a prequel as well, Alpha/Omega, if it goes really well.

And Dark Horse really needed to release it as a European sized hardback,

If boarders don't mind buying from The Book Depository, they are good to go to save money on X-Wing or any other game by Fantasy Flight Games, free postage too

Sometimes they cut the prices very, very low. A person I know got the Rebel epic ships together for around seventy Euro together, he checked the site fifteen minutes later they had sold out.

I'm now far too deep into an X-Wing addiction...

You get the epic ships?  ;)

The Massive did not float my boat as much as DMZ but was enjoyable none the less. For the eco warrior in a post disaster environment I preferred the ghosts of central park in DMZ, nice ideas.

For me it is the mix and depiction of characters combined with stories with a slant that I like about his writing.

There is supposed to be a prequel series to The Massive out next year, Ninth Wave
