Tharg should do a pack of Dredd or 2000AD characters.

Has Banzai Battalion actually come out yet? On the site it gives due date December 2003 but also says you can "preorder" it and I haven't seen it in any of the shops where you can buy the other books. Does anyone know about this?

Don't remember that bit, when was that?

The bit in Purity's Story when Nemesis reveals his full powers, and looks into the future to see what happens and discovers his final fate. Deep sense of foreboding.

In Tale of the Dead Man when Kraken kills four terrorists while unarmed and in handcuffs.

And the bit when Dredd almost murders Morphy's killer. "Why should I let you live?"

And the panel when we find out why Dredd failed Kraken.

And the next episode when Kraken executes himself.

And when the Sisters of Death wipe out about 100 judges.

Not that I liked that story arc or anything...

The new Dredd story so far just looks like a rip-off of Young Giant (recently reprinted in the Meg): cadet with an attitude problem might be expelled, so Academy brings in a Dredd to encourage him and win him round. Hopefully the story will forge its own identity next prog. I like the "Dredd family" stories though so I don't mind much. Interesting, by the way, that Dredd doesn't even appear in this episode... a hint of Wagner's future intentions perhaps?

I always like Droid Life.

There was that nameless character in Halo Jones 2, who died when Toby the robot dog was blown up, and nobody noticed. He/she nobly gave their life to save halo and her friend, and they even said "nobody died today," and there was a picture of their frazzled corpse. I thought that was deeply sad.

Then there was Judge Morph, whose death was a major part of the story he appeared in. There was an episode setting up his character and relationship with Dredd (he'd only been in one story before), then another copule of pages about him dying, and then Dredd went off the rails and almost committed murder in his reaction in what has to be one of the best cliffhangers of all time. Then another several frames of flashback to the dead character later on. Probably no other character in 2000AD, or very very few anyway, had such a protracted and emotional send-off.

My personal favourite though, which probably doesn't count, is Kraken's first "death."

I actually like most of Ennis' Dredd, but Muzak Killer stood out as a big exception for me, it was truly terrible. Judge Child is very good but Apocalypse War has a more epic feel and is better written. And the same artist throughout.

They should edit it down to just a compilation of all the bits with Liv Tyler in them...

When you get to the last lift there is a button outside the lift to the right of the door. You have to press that, then goinside the lift and press another button to use the lift. The first button unlocks the door.

Time Lords have 13 lives, their original plus 12 regenerations. However in the episode "The Five Doctors" the Timel Lords offered to give the Master (who had used them all up) a full set of new lives if he helped them, so there is a way for the Doctor to acquire new ones if need be. William Hartnell is the first Doctor. Paul McGann is the ninth and appears to be generally regarded by the people who do books and websites on the subject as a bona fide incarnation: he appears in definitive lists and novels and suchlike. Peter Cushing on the other hand does not count because his films were all remakes of William Hartnell TV stories so he was only playing the first doctor, not a regeenration in his own right.

Everybody got that? Good!
