Film & TV / Re: Game of Thrones: the last series [SPOILERS]

I'm not suggesting it can't be read as ill considered, but for my money it was consistent with what's gone before.

True, but it was a bit meh. Early GoT was all about the shocks and feeling that no character was safe. If they'd wanted to carry that on, they should have had Tyrion shot by all those archers (which was what I was hoping would happen). It would have had the same effect in making Danaerys angry, but would've been a shocking moment taking out one of the main players like that.

We collect the modulars. I've subsequently added quite a few vehicles and minifigs. The display is about 80% dust, although it's at least not as bad as when it was mostly Zoids. Those buggers are impossible to clean.

Yeah, I've got a fairly dusty Krark/Salamander on top of a bookshelf...

gathering increasing dust under my bedroom TV
Someone needs to invent a Lego de-duster. So. Much. Dusting.

They're almost impossible to clean eh? I've got a big lego millenium falcon, and it's incredibly fragile.....just impossible to clean (or move). I guess Lego was not a toy that was designed for display!

I use a soft paintbrush. Apparently Some make-up brushes are good as well.

I enjoyed it, but had a few niggles.

Not sure why Stark had to die - esp. as they had 6 infinity gems that they could've used to resurrect him. Although I guess if they'd done that, they would have then had to bring back Vision (But he's coming back in a TV series I think - unless the TV show names were red herrings...). Still, they can still bring back Stark in the same way as they did in the comics, so he may not be dead...

Cap picking up Mjolnir was awesome - esp. as it had been set-up way back in Age of Ultron...

The time travel stuff didn't wrap up that neatly... Stark should've just wiped the bad guy's memories and sent them all back in time in order to preserve the timeline. I did wonder if they were going to do the whole "You can reset the timeline, but you will have to lose your daughter" thing, but glad they didn't. I liked what they did with Cap though.

Loved the fact that they dealt with Thanos in the first 10 minutes and then forwarded it on 5 years.

Liked CMs new 'do - more like how she is in the comics. I can see why they didn't bring her in until the end though as she is just way too powerful.

As to what next? Eternals is their next big one, so maybe Celestials? Although they've got the FF back, so Galactus is now a possibility as well... Kinda hoping they bring in the Fantastic Four in the same way as they introduced The Sentry in the comics, as that would be a great way of just dumping them into the MCU as a fully-fledged team.

Prog / Re: Prog 2128 - The Kid who would become the King of Cool

I'm in Japan and I've got my Prog. You lot should try this digital lark. It's the future.

I have a sub to both, but I prefer reading the paper prog first-time around. If it's not arrived by the time 2129 does though, I'll have to read it digitally.

Oh hey, that's cool, happy to be proved wrong there.  The last I heard the shorts were packaged separately while CBS tried to leverage more cash from investors, and people were complaining on Twitter they didn't know who the Queen character was as recently as yesterday.

Yeah, Netflix did a pretty good job of hiding them away :(

Shame anyone legitimately paying to watch Discovery in the UK via legal means is deliberately excluded from part of the story by CBS' Short Treks bullshit.
They are right there on Netflix, so no.

Yep, they're in the "Trailers & More" section.

Megazine / Re: Meg 407 - Storm Rider!

Got my copy of the Meg today which was a pleasant surprise. Will do a full run down soon (Lawless, great, The Torture Garden, my top story in the issue) but the main thing I wanted to mention was the new bag that the Meg comes sealed in, which started with the last issue. The fact that it's now semi-opaque means you can't really see the cover very well and I'm sure this isn't really going to make it stand out on the newstand or help sales. Being shrinkwrapped every issue (I know it's to keep the floppy in there!) , I always thought must hurt sales, since you can't have a look through it to see if you want to buy it. Don't think this new bag will help. Probably cheaper to produce but not great for the covers. Thoughts?

It's compostable though, so helps save the planet :)

Website and Forum / Re: 2000ad app problem on Android tablet

Can you move the app back to use internal storage and see if that fixes things?

As far as I can tell, this is not possible to do for just one app. It has to be done for everything and it will cause problems on all my other apps if I do this.

You should be able to do it for individual apps. Try settings > apps > 2000ad > storage and there should be an option to change from external to internal storage.

Splendid news. Rutger Hauer for Harry and Frank Bruno for Carl please.

What was the last recent Rutger Hauer film you saw?  Dude’s in his mid-70s.

Hobo with a shotgun - he's still got it :) Captain Marvel shows that you can do the de-aging thing with CG :P

One other thing about the denouement to Machine Law...

I presume it isn't routine for a Judge droid to carry massive amounts of hi-ex in its casing? So Harvey must've known there was going to be a bomber at the protest march?

I assume it was standard lawgiver hi-ex rounds - just all detonated simultaneously. I imagine the a droid judge can carry a lot more ammo than a regular one.

I really like the Apes movies but can never remember which one is which or what order they go in. Is the one with the big nuclear bomb at the end stil chronologically last or did that get retconned?

Aren't the original 5 films circular in Chronology, so you can start at any of them?

Watched the first episode of the new Partridge series.

Tbh I wasn't impressed.

I thought the second one was better.

IIRC, a lot of the artwork wasn't that specific to the game, so just changing the lettering to refer to something else would probably get around it. The only major problem would be the 'Ghostbusters' episodes...
