A weird thing happened to me as I was travelling home on the bus. A gentleman, noticing that I was only wearing a pair of sandles gave me a pair of wellington boots I think because they were too small for him) As I don't have any waterproof footwear.. I am grateful...

(Yep Adrian is still in Hospital.) He has had several tests but the Doctors have drawn no firm conclusion. One says one thing the other counters it! I've been the only visitor he had had because only on person is allowed due to the Corvid. I also have been going over to his home to collect mail etc....

I acquired a free copy of Rebellions "Evil Genius" but it's bugged! ( I think) You have to capture a maid and interrogate her to gain information to teach your minions to be servants.

Well I capture the maid... get her locked in a cell.... instruct a minion to start interrogation and.... she's looe and wandering around the island. So now I can't make any damn progress ...

Nope. Mother is a cultural ignoramus. My families attitude to learning was always "Education is great, but don't believe it will get you anywhere. It's WHO you know... not WHAT you know..."

And they were right. Sigh.

I will have to wait until mother is out of earshot before I contact the police. Mother has the old fashioned tenancy to blame ME when I get picked on like this.... I don't want to give her any more ammunition.

As you folks already know the Steam summer sale is on.

Can anyone tell me if Age of Mythology: Extended Edition will run on a windows 10 machine without adaptation ... as I wouldn't know how to do it. (Already destroyed my Skyrim, Fallout 4 and Dragon Age Origins sulk)

.... Good trick trying to convince a woman that she wasn't the victim of sexual harassment...

a) there are quite a few fathers of daughters in these parts;
b) sexual assault / abuse is gender blind;
c) we're just weird round here.

BTW - the phrase you are looking for is 'gaslighting' ...

Oh I know the phrase... but it's rarely used and I didn't know how familiar others were with it. I had to explain in to my mother a couple of months ago...

I tried to convince him to go across the road to the multi occupancy house conversion.

But I will be phoning the local plod provided Mother isn't in earshot. I don't want her concerned.

At least you guys didn't give the reply

This didn't happen. And says more about your state of mind. Good trick trying to convince a woman that she wasn't the victim of sexual harassment...

Well you guys raise some good points. Perhaps I am more stunned that this has happened that I haven't thought though the ramifications.

Good job I didn't tell you about this that happened just over a year ago at 4pm in the morning...

Ten minutes ago I answered a knock on the door. Standing there was a black man claiming to come from a company called dark chocolate.

He said he was a ladies masseuse... although he made it clear that that he was actually a male sex worker.
Also said his services had been paid for in advance.
He even commented (favorably) upon the size of my breasts)

I explained that I hadn't called him and would never do so and suggested alternative addresses

I asked Adrian at the time if this MO fitted anyone on his radar (As he volunteers for a mental health charity but he said no.

Honestly these things don't usually happen to me.... problbly why I am net used to handling them...

If I could be certain of what he looked like then I would have reported it. But I don't want to potentially cause trouble for innocents. I didn't look at him because doing so might have been seen as encouraging. You have to be careful about looking strangers in the face around here. It can be perceived as a challenge.

Ok gentlemen I have a question for you.
Two nights ago I was returning home from Adrian's when this "gentleman" approches me asking to spare him a minute. As he was outside a multi occupied home I thought that he wanted my help to get inside as no one  was answering his plea.

Nope. HE just straight up asked me for sex.

A man. at lest 10 years my junior asked me for sex.

Tried to convince me I had a nice body. (I don't I have this thing called a mirror)

Also thought my... private parts would be a sweet as strawberry cheesecake.

Kept my head down and prayed he wouldn't turn violent.

Mercyfully he took the hint that I was not interested.

My question. What the hell was he thinking? Seriously dose this approach with complete strange women ever work?
(and even if it did, would you seriously copulate with a woman you didn't know and actually thought such a preposition was sufficient for her to think that you were a potential partner?

Curious minds need to know....

Thanks. I was somewhat worried last night. Stupid logic brain versus the mini "worst case" thoughts.

Adrian's tribute to the NHS... His Gothic set of armor set up for people to view. Pity that I don't think anyone has noticed.

Currently he is in Hospital.

Nothing to do with Corvid but well he got a tooth absences. (when he lost a crown 5 weeks ago.) Instead of seeking emergency aid he carried on regardless until the inevitable infection. He went to see an emergency dentist who drained the abcess then told him to go to the hospital as they feared the swelling & drooping of one side of his face (the side with the bad tooth ) indicated that he had suffered a mini stroke.

He was taken away yesterday evening and MRI scans given.

Today he looks much better. His face has returned to normal. He is no longer in chronic pain with his tooth and there is no indication of a stroke

However he is undergoing further tests as they are unhappy that his heart is racing when it shouldn't.

I hope that this incident don't delay his much needed and long awaited for gall bladder removal operation...

Apologies if this joke has been told somewhere before....

A nasty little child deliberately killed a butterfly ... the father spots this and yells. "You horrible child! Just for that... no butter for two weeks. Learn to respect nature!"

A few weeks latter, the same child goes out of it's way to deliberately kills a honeybee... the father spots this and yells. "You horrible child! Just for that... No honey for two weeks. Learn to respect nature!"

Later that day the family is gathered in the kitchen when the wife yells "EWW!" and squashes a cockroach.

The child turns to their father and asks "Are you going to tell her... or shall I?"
