Classifieds / Mac Wacom users......
« on: 14 August, 2005, 02:09:58 AM »
Ive got an A4 size Wacom Intuos for sale. The one i bought has an ADB connection, but alas wont work on a PC even through an iMate (which converts it to USB)

However, it will work on a mac (although not with OSX)

Anyone interested? The price is ?115 for the lot (tablet, pen, mouse, spare nibs, iMate USB convertor) + ?10 postage, which is what it cost me.

First come first served, if anyone wants it!

Help! / Hotmail Strangeness!
« on: 09 August, 2005, 12:40:05 AM »
Anyone else having trouble with hotmail today?
It seems to have got a new verification method, where you type in a set of letter and numbers that are displayed on the screen.
Problem is, whenever i do this im taken back to the screen asking for my email and password!

Is it just me having this problem, or have MSN screwed it up again?

Cheers

General / Alan Barnes has annoyed me!
« on: 03 July, 2005, 12:46:46 AM »
Sorry to darken the board with a rant, but here goes.

Just got the new mag and read the editorial first (as allways) and to be honest, i feel insulted as a Megazine fan.

How DARE Alan Barnes say there is nothing in the meg for me if i dont share his views on the moon landings/ space travel?
Personally, i feel the moon landings *were* faked. So what?
Personally, i think space travel is an incredibly distant dream that wont be achieved for at least a few hundred years (not impossible though!). So f*cking what?
How on earth should my feelings on these matters include or exclude me from a publication such as the Meg?

The ONLY thing that should make me buy the Meg should be the quality of the stories and articles contained therein, and my reasons for liking these stories should be my own. What does it matter if i disagree with the editor on a fairly unrelated subject?

Sorry for the rant peeps, maybe i shouldnt get pissed this early in the day!!

General / Mek-Quake...
« on: 08 May, 2005, 12:33:11 AM »
Having just read 'The Meknificent Seven' and 'The Black Hole' for the first time, somethings started bugging me.
Exactly how big is Mek-Quake?

Sometimes all the warriors can ride around in him and he's like a massive tank, but in more recent stuff he's been pretty much normal size with a different body!

I know im probably missing something that explains it all here, so im hoping someone can fill me in!

Help! / Doom 3 Multiplayer Bobbare-ness...
« on: 01 March, 2005, 12:27:48 AM »
Howdy y'all!

Sorry to use you all like this when im hardly ever here any more, but here goes:

Ive just installed an official Doom 3, so i can play it on-line. When i go to the multiplayer option, im told i have to install update patch 1.1, or it wont work.
So, i install the patch and restart, but now whenever i start the game, it says the wrong disk is inserted and wont load!

Ive tried installing from scratch a few times and allways the same.

Any help anyone can give would be greatly appreciated!!!

Anyway, hope you are all well, and i *promise* to spend a little more time here!
Be cool to each other...

General / Weed in 2000ad/Megazine...
« on: 23 October, 2004, 10:21:44 PM »
Ive noticed that the old herbal ciggies are mentioned again in one of the letters in the latest tooth.

Am i the only one who finds the ganja references that seem to be cropping up quite alot a bit, well, inappropriate?

Although the main age of a 2000ad reader is around 31, kids DO still read the comic and i fear 2000ad is being a bit irresponsible.

Considering i smoke the stuff myself, i may appear hypocritical, but i fear kids may find the killer weed 'cool' if its in their favorite comic.

I dunno, maybe im over-reacting. What do you think?

Bad news im afraid. Ive split up with my girlfriend (nothing nasty, thankfully), which amongst other things means im gonna lose my net access.

I'll still get some limited access at work, but i might be away for a bit.

Again. Bugger.

Oh well, i'll still be at Dreddcon...
See you all soon!

General / Metro Dredds
« on: 14 September, 2004, 04:48:16 PM »
Another one is being reprinted, the 'code 99 red' story.

Are they running out of the strips already?
And, to be fair, none of them have been particularly good, have they?

Is it really worth continuing with them, or are we going to get something that lasts more than 5 days, preferably of the standard of the Daily Star Dredds?

What does everyone else think about them?

General / Millar in Metro...
« on: 03 September, 2004, 02:55:13 PM »
From todays Metro...

"Brooding actor Jim Caviezel - who thrilled thousands with his portrayal of ill-fated messiah Jesus in The Passion of the Christ - is set to sign up as the Man of Steel in Superman Returns, according to comic book writer Mark Millar. Caviezel will swap crucifixes for kryptonite if he steps in to save the project, which has been turned down by every actor in Hollywood amid fears of type-casting. However, after walking in Jesus's sandals (with a cross on his back), Jim should fill the shiny red boots superbly."
