Got the post today - only read finale of the Torture Garden before i go myself to the garden centre. (See what I did there?). Stunning wraparound cover by Percival. His covers and art on this series has been spectacular each month and this is a great end to the series. A very thoughtful end too. Love this take on the bad boys of Dredd's universe and think they work much better removed from the world of Dredd . Can't wait to see where these two creators, Percival and Hine (hopefully!) take them next. Right! time to buy some top soil and then onto Lawless. To be continued.... ;)

Top issue - SPOILER - that headshot in the Torture Garden - ouch! Great image!- (Don't think he's dead, though)... Love this series!

It's compostable though, so helps save the planet :)

I was thinking maybe that but it still looks bad on the shop shelves. Screw the planet! I want to see the covers, dammit!!   :)

Got my copy of the Meg today which was a pleasant surprise. Will do a full run down soon (Lawless, great, The Torture Garden, my top story in the issue) but the main thing I wanted to mention was the new bag that the Meg comes sealed in, which started with the last issue. The fact that it's now semi-opaque means you can't really see the cover very well and I'm sure this isn't really going to make it stand out on the newstand or help sales. Being shrinkwrapped every issue (I know it's to keep the floppy in there!) , I always thought must hurt sales, since you can't have a look through it to see if you want to buy it. Don't think this new bag will help. Probably cheaper to produce but not great for the covers. Thoughts?

Dark Judges - The Torture Garden: The crowning jewel of the Megazine! The survivors go for a run in the woods, with horrifying consquences. This series is excellent and once again we see how a new Dark Judge can be done right (see also: the glorious, Deadworld).

Totally agree. Torture Garden has been a great, deep series for the Dark Judges (a very interesting, philosophical take on them), a good spooky new Dark Judge and terrific, insanely detailed art throughout!

The highlight this issue is The Torture Garden, which has an unexpected development. I won't spoil it here, but it's a great idea. I have no idea how this will end, but I'm looking forward to seeing what happens.

Yeah, great episode of The Torture Garden and I didn't see that coming! Excellent throughout and awesome Fear cover by Percival.

The Torture Garden is on form as ever, with interesting developments in the story, and of course beautiful art by Nick Percival. Does it finish next issue? Seems like a lot still has to happen before this wraps up.

Thanks - The Torture Garden is 10 parts long, so you're just half way through. More big changes to come (especially at the end of Part 6) - For folks that aren't keen on it - sorry - 5 more months of fun for you!

Keep up the awesome work just love your work on the Dark Judges
Cheers, guys!
Excellent, Nick! Your work on Dominion (the book version was great) and Torture Garden is fantastic, Dripping in mood and atmosphere and you've made the Dark Judges your own and long may it continue after this series. My copy hasn't arrived yet but I hear there's a surprise at the end of this episode?!

Mighty Xmas issue of the Megazine with a cracking Cliff Robinson festive cover.
I enjoyed the Dredd (always like Goddard's art) but that bottle in the eye! Ouch! That's an image that'll stick with me over my Christmas pud!
Storm Warning winds up in a solid satisfying way. It's had a nice spooky feel to this short series and I've been pretty impressed with it throughout.
I'm old enough to remember Roy of the Rovers and the article was a nice touch. Not too convinced on the reboot, though. Has the old stuff ever been collected?
Turbo Jones? Classic
Will read Blunt & Lawless later with a cuppa
Blown away with this month's Dark Judges Torture Garden. Fantastic design and detailed art from Percival. We get to see the Torture Garden for the first time and it's a gruseome twisted place with some stunning grotesque imagery but strangley beautiful feel with the colour palette he uses. I also love this take on Judge Death. Getting more of an insight into what makes him tick - he's still a dark killing machine but nice to see some twisted intelligence there as well. It's a nice new direction for them and keeps things fresh and interesting.
So, top marks from me so far!
As a side note. Anyone else not been getting their prints with the subs copy? Have they now stopped doing them? I've not ahd one for 2 issues...:(

Great issue with the Meg on top form as usual. Always like the wraparound covers and the ones lately by Winslade and Percival's last month have been top notch!

Good Dredd one off this month with a nice original new look to Dredd (you'll know what I mean when you read it!). Not seen Mack Chater's art before but he has a solid style.

Lawless contnues its widescreen action packed run with some insane battle scenes but I still do long for some more black areas in the art to separate things a bit but this is still a quality strip and has the best looking snow plow I've ever seen!

The Carlos tributes are wonderful and bring a tear to the eye with a great selection of anecdotes and memories from top talent, past and present. I particularly liked Garth Ennis' recollections. The floppy this month is a nice selection as well and great to see the original idea for the Judge Dredd logo.

The Torture Garden has the Dark Judges living up to their name with some gruesome deaths all delivered by Nick Percival's wonderful painted art. So atmospheric and great use of colours and lighting. Also interesting to get a take on Judge Death philosophy behind killing and hints at a bit more substance to the motives of the Dark Judges.

Just need to read Blunt and Storm Warning (which looks ace) but I've been told I have to return to finish watching I'm A Celebrity. Drokk!!

Decent floppy this month as well. Early Patrick Goddard Dredd / Johnny Woo stories, written by Gordon Rennie
