My print turned up this morning- safely packed in a triangular box much like a massive Toblerone. And I have since spent the day wanting chocolate, so thanks for that Tharg.

The print quality is excellent, the paperstock is nice and heavy and I am very pleased all told.

Now to get a frame!

I bought the large size THE OUT cover print, seeing as it's such a startlingly beautiful image and probably my favourite cover in years. Will be interested to see the quality when it turns up. Eventually, it will be framed and pit on the stairwell, where it will join Rod Serling and Boris & Elsa.

This is the only place my avatar appears on my phone. And no one else has one.

I access through my Samsung phone, and it's a bit of a mess to be honest. It doesn't fit the screen, with the header being way too wide which throws everything out. The 'Unread Topics' function- which used to deliver just a list of most recent posts since last time I visited- is either greyed out or I'm actually looking at it, in which case it's useless as it just shows the list of subforums and the most recent post in each. Which means I have to go into each subforum in turn and find the active threads.

I have to log in each time I visit, as the '30 days/ month (whatever it was) that I clicked doesn't work and there is no 'forever' option.

My avatar has disappeared again (nice to have it back for a few days!) and so has everyone else's.

Ho hum!

Not *to my knowledge*. And thankyou- she does still read comics though, though these days is Goth As Fuck, and going off to uni to study forensics.

Sigh. Where did the time go..?

Profile pics are suddenly back for me. After what seems to be *years*. I'd forgotten mine was of my littlest offspring dressed as Judge Fire... and by a startling coincidence she turns eighteen today!

For me, not the best of years covers-wise, especially in the first few months of the year. That said, the three I've picked are among the best of the last decade.

1. 2293 Brink 'Burns Black'. Leaped off the shelf at me. Those colours and that vaguely disturbing strap line.

2. 2302 Hope. What a gorgeous image and design.

3. 2274 Cliff Robinson doing what only he can do 100% successfully.

Still nothing since 2309 here - simultaneously relieved I bought some shop copies and perturbed that I'm never going to see them (or the Meg).  I understand a week or two or three delay, despite other post making it through - but over a month now for 2310?

This is my sentiment. I honestly think that something has gone wrong, badly wrong, with the subs and the postal strike is masking it. No other mail is a month overdue. And to miss one letter is unlucky. I am missing four (2310, 11, 12 and the Meg). That's not right. That's not a strike.

The longest anything else has been overdue is about four days. There is something odd going on with the prog

You say that, but I have had six deliveries refunded from Amazon sellers over the Xmas period, because all (thin books, dvds) failed to arrive despite being marked as "in transit" since late November. Four have had "Royal Mail tracking numbers"- which are next to useless, due to the post office website being... well, if you've used it, you'll know.

So it's not just magazines or subscriptions.

On the other hand, comics ordered from EBay have all arrived (and I buy a lot of comics), including one that got all confused when the wrong one was shipped to me by the seller, had to be sent back- along with my copy sent to another buyer- then sent again buy the seller to the correct buyers... which arrived in the time you'd expect normally.

It's just a backlog and hardworking posties trying their damnest to sort through it. I gave my continually-harassed postie a tenner as a Xmas gift the other day, which hopefully will help keep her onside and the mail flowing, and her away from bloody food banks for a few days.

Title says all. However you celebrate, or if you don't, best wishes for the next few days. And if it's phenomenally distressing, remember in 72 hours it'll all be over for another year. If things get too uncomfortable, reach out. Even a post here will no doubt get a response.

All the very best,

Prog / Re: Prog 2312 - Xmas with the Devil!

Well, so far my copy has accompanied me to work- where it has sat in a WHS bag for nearly 24 hours now. Later it will go home with me and, with luck, with sit underneath my coffee table until joined by next week's Meg, and I can find some time to enjoy both consecutively. I've not had a day off for sixteen days now, so am hoping for such an oasis of calm *at some point* between Wednesday next week and Xmas.

I've not been able to put aside time to read the Xmas prog and Meg together for some years, and this year the idea really appeals. So I've not even opened it yet. But the cover looks great!

Prog / Re: Prog 2310 - High Plains Shifter

I've been seriously considering resubbing- for thr first time since the early-mid nineties I think. And taking out a double prog/Meg sub for my eldest as well. However, the sheer amount of noise here about missing/ delayed progs (which has been going on for *years* now) sort of puts me off.

I know things have been a bit crap with regards to the post office for a few years now- for obvious reasons (and I don't mean the strikes, which I support, or indeed postal *workers* at all) but stuff going awry goes back half a decade or more. So, along with the niggling feeling that if I didn't buy my two progs and two Megs each time from WHS, WHS wouldn't stock them at all- which would mean even less of a chance a random punter might pick it up- I may well have just talked myself out of it.

I dunno. That badge is shiny and the Garry Leach mag is something I want in my collection. Can I stand the seemingly-frequent torment of going through town on a Wednesday knowing the mags I want to read could be bought, while I'm still waiting for mine?

Prog 2310 was a pleasure. The only thing I'm not fond of is Enemy Earth (largely for the art, which isn't to my taste), but even that is growing on me.

Announcements / Re: The Out - coming October 2022

If someone does actually print one of these on appropriate sticket paper at the appropriate size, could I humbly ask for them to send me one too? I have no printer, no laptop, and after buying the webshop hardback I'd prefer it to be 'complete'.

Plus, it'd remind me of the sticker activity books I used to do with the kids when they were young- and I kinda miss them.

I would be eternally grateful! (and I'm sure such magnanimous efforts would be noticed when the KTT scores are totted up).
