So I finally finished reading Heavy Mob last night. What a strange collection of strips. It sort of feels like it's infiltrated the rest of the books, and even the fairly recent Wagner Dredd in the mix was somehow off and not that good. I'm very glad it's an outlier (so far)! Still, a third of the way through now, and I certainly don't regret subscribing after buying issue one in the local Martins.

I agree, The Heavy Mob seems disjointed compared with the other themed volumes such as Target JD and Alien Nations. Great collection otherwise though.

The Wikipedia page is listing issue 29 as Satan's Island but no reference to an official announcement. Anyone know any more about that?

Official confirmation on the Facebook page that Satan's Island is indeed issue 29, volume 44.

Fantastic, really pleased Ian Kennedy's cover made it in to the top five as that is one stunning piece of art. Worthy winners all.

Enjoyed the first fortnightly dose of aural Thrill-power for 2016, enjoyed the insighful interviews with Messrs Carroll and Edgington. Great stuff.

I think we probably need a separate thread on the reproduction issues. I think there are a few different things being discussed here which are wider than the Mega Collection.

I agree, there are some valid points being made but it covers a wider range of publications than the Mega Collection.

If I remember correctly, I think Lenny Zero's appearing in the separate Wally Squad volume (18), which will also include the original Brett Ewins story from prog 390 or so.

Enjoyed Low Life, both the noir and comedy elements. And any story which features the Geddy Lee amphitheatre wins in my book.

We're a third of the way through the collection, give or take, and it's proving to be a fantastic grouping of stories with a huge amount of talent involved over the years. Great value for hardback graphic novels too, making it money well spent in my opinion.

1. 1961. Of significance for me as Ian Kennedy drew the cover of my first issue of 2000AD, the Sci-Fi special in 1984. This new cover is a thing of beauty, I'd put it on the wall if I didn't think Mrs Snazz might not be keen.

2. 1949. Dave Kendall's art on that whole series was magnificent and this is as iconic a picture of Sidney as you could wish for.

3. 1947. Dredd on a horse!Wait, run that by me again?

Judgement Day will never be as regarded as the other mega-epics, but it's a fun read, notwithstanding all the destruction. Despite some stupid names, the interplay between the international Judges is good, and it's great to see Carlos drawing his two most iconic co-creations in the same story.

Interesting to read Garth Ennis' self-deprecating comments and also his praise of City of the Damned, which is a favourite of mine, although it's a while to wait before it'll appear in this series. I remember having the Titan book of it back in the day, regrettably long gone.

Pending an announcement in the next week, will subscribers be the first to know what issue 27 is, is it due to land with 26 early January?

Thoughts are with Filippo.

What a fantastic advent calendar, including Megabus' mega-contribution and everything else in between.

A very Happy Christmas to all Squaxx.
