>What I found ridiculous was the inclusion of Alan Moore (or a near approximation) to fill in all the cracks in the story

He should have explained the plot with a Glycon snake puppet on his hand.

THe bad stuff in the film are the parts the Waschowski brothers had invented themselves, the good parts are the bits that are taken directly from the book.

There are so many plot holes introduced into the story that it becomes pointless, the biggest crime of all is the belittling of V to a love sick puppy at the end instead of being an anarchist icon.

Have a look at the original opening for the Buck Rogers pilot, it's every heterosexual young man's dream & of course that song...

General / "Chiarascuro" & the book "Flicker"
05 October, 2006, 12:58:06 PM
If you are interested in Chiaroscoru, ypu should look up the book "Flicker" by Theodore Rosak. The book is about a film student who reviews films but he becomes obsessed with the films of an obscure silent film-maker called Max Castle who made b-movie horrors in the 20's & 40's.

He is compelled to watch Castle"s unsettling films that make him feel violated then he discovers Castle was using unorthodox film techniques to hide messages in his films. The student seeks out Castle's lost dark, masterpiece and uncovers a vast conspiracy about how movies will destroy us.

Castle's films are shot in black & white and use the contrast of black & white to convey the ideas of light & darkness as in the techniques of Chiaroscuro, film noir & German expressionism & also use the phenomenon known as the Flicker.

It's a great book that I assume Si Spurrier has read.
I thik Darren Aronofsky has bought the film rights to the book.

>3. A big Justice Dept hovership is dropping down towards them. Take this view from near Logan and Curzon, who are walking among the mutie wounded. Curzon turns one over with a foot. Logan finds one alive and puts a bullet in him.

MUTIE:   Hâ?¦HELP MEâ?¦

LOGAN:   YOU BET. ALL THE WAY TO HELL.

Yeah, but it wasn't really you logan only your namesake.

>This series of episodes doesn't seem to be laying the ground for anything except emotional impact.

I think something has been set up in these episodes about early cloning experiments. The soil has been contaminated by something other that radiation. A whole tribe of people born with multiple heads may have something to do with residues left over from cloning experiments.

They also got it wrong, a Fargo's severed hand was not delivered to the Grand hall -it was a piece of human tissue.

If one of Fargo's hands could fit into that small box, Fargo himself nust have been a very unimpressive man.
