How far into the third episode, entitled New World Order, do you have to go before you learn it was the evil ‘bankers’ (i.e. the Jews), ‘Zionists’ (i.e. the Jews) or ‘Rothchilds’  (yep, still the Jews) what done it all?

Think I preferred the GI Buttplug one when Paul Holden and I did the exact same gag about fifteen years ago.

The first underlit cavernous monstrosity was surely the Seventh Doc’s gloomy gothic cathedral interior seen in the TV movie.  (Complete with crap CGI bats.).

Which predates the Time Wat.  But at least the Tardis cloister bell made sense, with that one.

That was very entertaining.

Especially if you imagined ABCwarBOT’s peeved little face as he sat there watching it with his pre-prepared checklist of things to complain about, desperately sucking on his weak lemon drink every time a woman or POC appeared on screen.

Dale Jackson’s permanently banned from the Thought Bubble con for assaulting a 2000AD member of staff.

But, please, go ahead and give him your money.

Regarding Brink- I'll be surprised if it is editorial causing the spolier boxes. To me it feels perfectly in line with the presentation of the strip. We get info boxes letting us know who folk are etc so I see this as another layer of the presentation.

Yes.  Pretty sure it’s a deliberate stylistic choice done for - quite obvious - comedy effect.

But, in the meantime, let’s all enjoy Frank’s authoritative pronouncements on what he thinks goes on behind the scenes.

I bet when Eccleston got the gig there were a few complaints from the upper class about how he was a Time Lord, not a Time Lout, and so on.

I remember listening to someone with a broad working class Geordie accent complaining on their Doctor Who podcast about the casting of Eccleston, because he looked and sounded too common and Northern.

Boy, did that guy have issues.  Not as many as ABCwarBOT, obviously.  But, still....issues.

'The Complete Caballistics Inc.' is listed on Amazon as released on 21st February 2019. Torn between buying this or the two 2000ad Ultimate Collection hardcovers?? Can't make up my mind which is the better buy.

Wait for the Complete edition.  Because it might be.....complete?

As for this “as the co-creator of Halo Jones, his depiction of the character must be accepted as completely valid” shite....well, Alan Moore didn’t seem so impressed:

Quote
According to Moore, Halo Jones – cited as one of one of the top 50 comic characters by Empire magazine in 2008 – was conceived as "an attempt to introduce a realistically observed and realised female character into the alpha-male dominated line up of 2000AD".

"I fail to see how my original intentions for the character are served by a long-lens shot of her with her 50th-century tits out," he added. "In fact, rather the opposite."

https://www.theguardian.com/books/2013/mar/21/halo-jones-topless-row-ian-gibson

Whose creative opinion seems more valid here: the guy who thought up the character and her world, or the guy who drew her after someone else had thought her up?

Trailer Linky

I don't mind what gender the Doctor is, but a Yorkshire accent?  It's not exactly tiffin, what?

Timeline check:  Ian’s last 2000AD work was in 2008. The topless HJ kerfuffle was in 2013.

Therefore, whatever went wrong with his 2000AD relationship happened well before then.

As unemployment falls to its lowest level for over forty years.

Yes, you dropped this same one-line non sequitur a few months ago, and then got schooled in the facts just as you’re getting schooled in them again.

Do you really not remember this?

There seems to be a name missing from that press release…

Is it Martin Emond’s, again?

There’s absolutely no connection between the Strange Brigade game (and this comic strip spin-off) and Caballistics, Absalom etc.

I’ve been working on the game for the last year, and the thought’s never even crossed my mind.

At least Vanguard had an ending.

Did it?

Vanguard was designed to the same template that gave us the wildly successful Nicolai Dante.

Trust me, it was originally intended to run for multiple series.
