This is starting to sound like the script to the Lego movie....;)

Hey, I did already mention Lord Business – and I do feel a bit shitty saying "no, you can't play with all of daddy's Lego". But then she's 4, she has a massive box of her own Lego. Also, I bought a ton of 1980s Lego on eBay for nostalgic purposes, but almost all of that's gone to the nipper (and been lost in her box o' Lego bits).

Glad I'm not the only one who thought that (though I couldn't remember Lord Business's name, so that reference skipped past me).

It's entirely true that there's Lego and there's lego. That big millennium falcon is most certainly not for kids, its non-functional as a toy, but, then there is the smaller version that is a great solid toy. They have certainly broadened the range to appeal to a wider audience.

One of my favourite vehicles from Star Wars is the Sandcrawler (not an obvious choice, I know) and I've looked at previous Lego Sandcrawlers.  This Christmas I bought myself the latest version - it's about half the size of previous ones they've done but think it's probably the best one released to date (though if only it had proper see-through windows).

Ooh, I see an opportunity to share one of my favourite robots (but the least animate) from my collection! This one is HUGE.

Fully poseable too!

I also have a thing for skulls. These two are the pride of my collection - museum quality replicas.

Chimp skull and Tibetan carved skull (replica of the only fully carved Tibetan skull to have been discovered).

I’m hoping to expand the ‘museum quality’ ones over the next year or so, but they’re a rare treat as they’re so bloody expensive.

Ahem. While your collectible items are fabulous, I must remind thread users about the purpose of this thread: shelf porn. Wider shots of shelves, please!

And, honestly, I will add mine. I just need to find an image-hosting solution that isn't blocked by my work laptop. Then the basement of thrills, the Fortress of Zarjazity, will be revealed. :)

Yeah I remember him teasing us with this years ago. I need closure or my trust in our fishy (once) overlord will be be tarnished. I think he's just thrown up a couple of BnQ (or whatever they have in Canada) black tube plastic shelves and thrown everything in boxes on those.

Prove its not so, come on I'm calling you out.

Its a shelf* porn off...

*[Normalfontsize] This originally said 'self porn' but that was too weird so I edited it so no one will ever know [\normalfontsize]

There are no shelves in the Troutcave. He stuffs his priceless collectibles into old lobster pots in his seaweed-choked watery lair. Rusty staples, foxed edges, folded covers, these are pleasing words to him.

Prove me wrong, yer maj.

Actually he's in Canada - he probably just splits open the belly of a moose (or is it caribou there?) and stuffs them in there.
