I've read two reports on Constantine (three if you include DD's) and they all have been POSITIVE!!

Might just give this one a go after all.

My choice for John was always Sean Pertwee.
Jude Law too much of a pretty boy.
Ray Winstone (although good) too old.

And it should have been filmed in London in the pissing rain or a boiling heatwave (having JC run around in that overcoat in the heat, just to make him a wee bit more pissed off).

Nah.  Sting should've done it.  Shit solo artist, but he might have made a good Constantine - if he could act, but that hasn't stopped Reaves' career.

I agree: Sean Pertwee (pre-balding) would have been an excellent choice. If they had to choose an American, that blonde bloke out of Buffy (James Masters?) would have been all right.

One thing that got me was the interview Reeves gave Film2005.

Keanu: John Constantine is the *ultimate* hero.

Me (very loudly at the screen): No he's not. He's a *cunt*.

John knew he shouldn't have let her have that pickled egg.
