Yes, I agree that the TRUE cost would be much higher, especially if someone where to start from scratch, the software and electricity used alone would be several times that.
I also presume they'd also want to keep all the working files and therefore will need to buy a new harddrive if they want to make any similar projects in the future etc, etc.
But it's great to see that, 'amateurs' can produce quality images.

Especially when it comes to TV shows, professionals often work to crazy deadlines and frequently have to accepts cuts in quality to get the job done in time. Amateurs can afford to take their time, so in theory, a group of talented amateurs could easily produce a show that was equal to, if not better than, a professional one.
