I'm pondering the subtext. No, honestly! Because they don't write political
songs, it's easy to forget that they're a very political
band. It seems to me that there's a very definite message being sent when they do their first (original) song primarily in English since the English versions of Du Hast and Engel -- on the face of it, a very savvy move commercially -- and they choose to release a song that's unplayable on the radio, accompanied by a video that's unbroadcastable by anyone barring a few -ahem- specialist cable channels.
Alternatively, it may just have been a quiet Tuesday morning at Rammstein Towers, when Till announces:
"Dese puny American rock bands, dey sing about sex like dey are liddle girly vusses! Ve show dem a thing or two, ja?"
