Prog / Prog 1823 - Last Dance
09 March, 2013, 10:49:27 AM
Cover by Steve Yeowell & Abigail Ryder - Befitting the final episode of Red Seas

Dredd - A great one parter and shows the effects that promiscuity can have in the future. Really enjoyed this.

Savage - Thought that last week was providing the build up to major fighting for the bridge but does't work out that way. Bit of an anti climax but hey, that's just me.

Past Imperfect - Rocket De La Revolution - Art by the Dante droid Simon Fraser and it shows in this Cuban story with a great twist.

Red Seas - Final part, great double splash page bringing up old memories, although for me a very lame ending on the last page.

All in all a decent Prog and looking forward to the new line up which includes Stickleback

Prog / Prog 1818
02 February, 2013, 11:26:08 AM
Strange that I am the first to post. Winter sun replaces the winter snow and my postie is back to the usual routine of delivering on a Saturday - Thank Tharg!!

A Karl Richardson Savage cover as a suicide bomber.

Dredd - I liked this one parter as a nice twist to the tail. Not really any high action as such just a well written piece.

Savage - doing what he always does best but not to everyone's taste.

Ampney Crucis - for me personally it doesn't do anything but can see why it has it's fans. A build up episode.

Red Seas - more of the same from last week and the week before etc... Really hasn't got me at all excited. Maybe when assembled in a graphic novel it will be more enduring.

Strontium Dog - the saint or sinner of Milton Keynes ghetto. Key decision to come next week.

I seem to already have one of these Death key rings but can't recall how or when I got it?

Can't recall using my time transporter to buy one from the future so any help with when they were originally issued would be helpful.

Books & Comics / When is Strip Magazine No.3 available?
16 January, 2012, 09:24:37 PM
Anyone have any idea? Supposedly it was meant to be available on January 12th (as per their webpage) but my local FP don't have it not have they any idea of a date it will arrive.

Seems this is not the first time. If they carry on like this, although the contents are good, people will just stop waiting and spend their hard earned on other items - I'm off to the Rebellion sale page...

Help! / Can't access the forum from my laptop?
31 December, 2011, 01:13:59 PM
Can anybody help?

I can't seem to access this forum from a new Macbook I have recently purchased. It gives out the following message:

Sorry Guest you are banned from using this forum! Stealth spammer This ban is not set to expire.

As anyone can see, I am not a spammer but cannot understand why I am unable to access via the laptop. Currently have to access via my PC but that is on it's last legs. Just want to point out that I log off from the site from my PC but still not able to access via my laptop. Does the forum name work on an IP address of your linked computer or am I not doing something correct?

Any help would be appreciated.

And a Happy New Year to one and all.

Prog / PROG1759 IN FOR THE KILL
05 November, 2011, 01:58:24 PM
Can't believe that it is almost 2pm and I have bagged the thread - a first for me!

Dredd - New start to the Day Of Chaos story arc in The Assassination List - back to the Yurges again and biological warfare. If this is going where Hennessy and her sister believe Day of Chaos is heading then bring it on. I am liking Dredd more than ever and I for one can't wait to read on. A solid opener.

Ampney Crucis - doesn't do anything for me but for fans of it, then it is drawing to a big finish.

Indigo Prime - more weird and wonderful pages of art in this instalment - very trippy feel to it - LSD users amongst you, beware!!

Angel Zero - another decent instalment, building up to it's logical conclusion. One hell of a killing machine is our Maggie.

Finally and by no means last - Low Life - my pick of this weeks thrills. I suspect that Dirty Frank may well have experimented with a number of the low lifes narcotics whilst being undercover when seeing all the various animals he has for company. Sounds like he is also into those Brazilian experimental rockers CSS with his line "Lets make love - death from above" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7agPOt1XZz8

Oh and a full letters page again.

A top Prog

2000AD 1988 Annual - £2.50

Also have a copy of Slaine - The Horned God The Complete Story with dustjacket. Both are in excellent condition. This is the 1st Madarin print edition that was only available via Mail Order through the pages of 2000AD at the time. Believe it was limited to 1,000 copies only. This is not to be mistaken for the later Hamlyn reprints. Was looking for £50 for this very rare edition - Any takers?

You will just pay the exact costs of the postage - no other add ons!!

Anybody interested in any of these, just drop me a PM. Can always send over photo's if required.
