At least that's how I've always heard Dredd in my head while reading the strip.

And these seems to be what Karl Urban's going for-good man!

Yep!  a resounding yes! on the voice always being in the vocal style of Dreddy Harry :D
But I believe Kermit the frog was the original intended vocal style for Joe Dredd ;-)

Imagine what a Julian Clary sounding Dredd would be like, or a Kenneth Williams.

Seriously, I always imagine him to sound like Clint Eastwood does, like most folk on here do.

if I went 'round saying I was an Emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!

To me, Dredd's voice will always be as it was in the Dredd Versus Death Playstation game!

Alternatively... he might sound like Karl Urban.

That close-up of Karl Urban's scowling lips reminds me of Will Simpson's Dredd. Nowt wrong with that, like.

He's only trying to be what following how his dreams make you wanna be, man!

I never knew they showed Dredd's eyes in the strip!  (Apart from
The Dead Man of course, but that wasn't his face as such.) Incidentally, that's a book I'd like to pick up. I've never read it, but the man's identity was given away...
Even if they do go to all that trouble to obscure the top of his face in the other panels.

Scary eyes too. I can sort of see that thug's point (was it Whitey?) in that early episode. (The one where Dredd's visor gets gunked and he has to remove it.)  He wasn't talking about deformation after all.

He did Dredd with the helmet OFF! BURN HIM!! (Joking).
