I don't normally get sketches from artists (because having done them I find the whole process terrifying) - but I've got some choice ones in the last two years....

It is. As I remember, the Fabry Dredd was the first time he's ever drawn him, as he was working on Slaine at the time. He pressed on the page so hard whilst inking it, McCarthy just used his lines.

It's strange having a "unique" sketch for years and then finding the artist does the same thing again and again.

That's not a dig. I see it as practical and giving the punter what they want.

Just a younger me would've been gutted to see other versions of his sketches.
