I can't stop...

Kate Beckinsale- daughter of Richard, who appeared in Rising Damp with 'Him', starred in the movie 'Underworld', a movie which shares some strikingly similar ideas with the 2000AD series 'A Love Like Blood', only not as good.

See what I mean?

Anyone have a picture of this to show on this thread?

Dunno if this has been posted before.

Modine as Hicks!! that's news to me.

James Remar makes a brief appearance in ALIENS as Hicks, a scene that was shot before Biehn was brought in to replace him.

When the marines first enter the compound place in the rain, that's James Remar as Hicks.

Bolt-01

?!?

Interesting. I'll see if I can dig out the offending article that mentioned it- think it was in Cinefex for ALIENS

Bloody hell!

Is that real? There is no way they could have got away with that design.

Steve Green

It's real - it's on the DVD anyway.

Maybe it was just an in-joke before they designed the helmet, even the grimace is Dredd.

Funny how they've even got the inverted V bit on the mask which the movie version left off.

Well done Mcwild, that's the pic I was refering to. I'm sure the writer, Ed Neumeier had gone on record stating that the source of his inspiration for Robocop was a comic book-not to hard to spot which one. It's possible that this clay sculp came from a previous attempt to get a Dredd movie made. If memory serves me correct there had been several abortitive attempts before, possibly with Arnold Schwarzenegger penciled in for the role at one point.

Woolly

'The Making Of Judge Dredd' book mentions that the Dredd film *could* have been made in the late eighties, until RoboCop arrived and stole Dredd's thunder so to speak.
It even claims that the producers of RoboCop apologised to the then producers of Dredd for ripping off so many of their ideas!

As for the DVD, Verhoeven himself admits that they started with a version of Dredd and just kept redesigning till they had RoboCop.
Be very interesting to know exactly how legal that process is/was...

Yeah but the only comic he ever refers to is Iron Man, the swine. We really know who Robocop is based on.
