But I had no idea it was an old strip. Can't imagine it had much in common, anyone read the original?

It was a strip set in WW2, that appeared in Our Fighting Forces, featuring Capt. William Storm, "Gunner" MacKay, Johnny Cloud, Pooch and "Sarge" (who's real name was too secret to ever be revealed).
