Batman Inc. 8 was only pretty good. After all the fuss the most of the comic felt like padding for the oh so spoiled ending. Well a lovely little moment between Damien and Dick aside, that was quite brilliant.

Arrggggghhh....stupid social media hype has meant I've missed out on my first issue of Morrison's Batman run! 
Have been able to procure a 'variant' cover for next week from my LCS, more than double the price though.

Yeah my LCS said they'd sold out an age ago and where still getting calls (I have it on standing order so no problem for me luckily). According to Bleeding Cool it was selling on eBay for $30 the morning it was out, while there were literally thousands still on the shelves. Give it a couple of months and no doubt you'll be able to pick it up for next to nowt?

Ah yer probably right- will get it on ComiXology tonight, then pick it up for a Euro in a month. 

We also have mice in the walls/floor, we have 'caught' three already and found another one dead in the bedroom.

I've always admired Rob Liefeld.

I was one among the many in the chorus of mockery, but recently I've been following him on Twitter and he comes across as a decent bloke, occasionally hilariously forthright about his time at DC to the point I am amazed they haven't sued him, and he seems to promote the writers and artists he's published more than he promotes himself.

He's kind of like a Bizarro version of Orson Scott Card where instead of the man getting in the way of you seeing the work, the work's got in the way of seeing the doting dad, enthusiastic comics fan, and risk-taking publisher and champion of new talent - Marvel and DC would never do to Wolverine and Wonder Woman what Liefeld let creators do with Prophet and Glory, though they will often crow about their new art and writing discoveries even though they won't look at you until you've been established on the indy scene for a while, and here's the pouches man handing someone a paid working gig on a plate.

Whatever opinions others have about his artwork, I've always liked him for the reasons stated above.

I only read that issue last night Adventurer, and I agree- brilliant.
A decapitated 'Supreme' being used as a power supply for a sentient asteroid belt...? Great stuff.

[Oblivion]

I have been struggling with both Oblivion and Deus Ex over the last week.

Deus Ex seems too clunky. I may abandon it in favour of the new one (I got them cheap in a package on Steam).

Oblivion just seems too user unfriendly. I am really struggling with it. Not only have I not levelled up after about four hours playing (eh?) but the structure seems arbitraty and unnecessarily scant with its information (example: I joined the Thieves Guild so I could sell stolen stuff. I'm told I can now use a fence. Great! Except I am NOT told where there is a fence, and it turns out the only one you can use as an entry level thief is in a whole separate town from the one where you join the poxy guild!)

Does Skyrim play the same way?

It seems a shame as both games get rave reviews and yet I just can't get into them. On the Oblivion front, I played and loved Fallout 3. Maybe that has spolied me?

If you're a fan of Fallout 3 / Fallout New Vegas, you'll instantly fall in love with Skyrim.
I've recently added the DLC and am topping 200 hours game play. One of the finest games ever made.

...cos i spent last night in a & e thinking i was having a heart attack but lucily im not, hearts fine so's i can carry on abusing it and i dont haqve a blood clot in my lung so apart from the white hot pain keeping me awakes im fine! yay!

I'm out as of this issue, would love to keep it on the pull list out of loyalty to the character, but...well, just no.

I hope it continues to be a success over the pond (for its intended audience), and I will definitely be back for 'Year One'.

If Dredd gets to pummel Andrew Garfield's face in, I'm all up for this.
