I 'm probably asking for a bit much here. But I was once hoping for a big bumper book filled with every conceiveable piece of Slaine art.

That would be all the covers, star scans, other miscellaneous, stuff.

Including cover art for those foreign graphioc novels.

Speaking of which, has there ever been a release of the english versions of the 'The Swann Children' and the 'King of Hearts'?

Another one put up on Ebay.(Pitured)

I thought it might have the rare Slaine Poster Prog, though the Babel Fish translator tells me that this is German for 'Slaine : Queen of the Witch'.

Anyway, In my hunt rare or uncoommmon Slaine progs, i was wondering if anybody could point me in the right direction at online Comic resources other than this one or ebay.

Damn, I just lost the bidding on some rare progs this morning.  I should have checked the amount of time I had left, but somebody had outbidded me and wasn't there.

I was counting on these and was hoping to find these on sale somewhere esle online.

Blimey, that last one looks like the cover of a video from the other aisle of the porn shop..

Yeah, I actualley first noticed this piture was used as some of the artwork for the Slaine D20 Core rule book that was published back in 2002 and on the front of cover ( But Reverced.) of the Falian Tribal book for the same game.

The image itself, I haven't seen it before as I haven't seen all the Slaine art this side of the Horned God.

Apon first looking at this I thought this was sort like seeing Xena and Gabriel as men.

I'm not sure who the blonde haired guy is on the left. He surely couldn't be Ukko or Niamh.

Perhaps he is Slaine's foster Brother at a guess. Perhaps the colour of his Tartens are a clue.

This is the link for a German comic site that list some of the German versions of Slaine that have been published. Another German series is Slaine - The Horned God - Arboris Comics - 1997 and Slaine - The Horned God - Bastei Comic Editions.

The German run 2000AD Presents - Egmont Fleetway - 1999/2001 also had some Slaine issues,
2   Slaine 1: Der Herr der Bestien
5   Slaine 2: Konigin der Schlangen
15   Slaine 3: Das geheime Bundnis 1
16   Slaine 4: Das geheime Bundnis 2
17   Slaine 5: Das geheime Bundnis 3

Spanish series - Slaine - Norma Editorial Comics - 1997 - The Horned God

French - Slaine - Zenda Comics - 1989 - The Horned God

Dutch - Slaine - Arboris Comics - The Horned God
These came in softback and Hardback with White / Red or Black spines depending on the print run.

Italian - Slaine - MagicPress Comics (softback) - The Horned God

Flemish - Slaine - Arboris Comics in Flemish (1995) - The Horned God

Greek(?) - 2000 AD Books in Greek - O2H Books
There was meant to be ones of these for Slaine but I have only ever seen the first Sin Dex one, again many thanks to Simon for that.

Hope this helps a bit.

Isn't that Mel Gibson in Braveheart?
"Men will never be free until the last king is strangled with the entrails of the last priest"

I, Cosh

I've definitely seen Polish editions of Slaine stories I don't recognise. (NB This means they werre published sometime between Progs 876 & 1299.)

No link, but there's  abook shop just off the main square in Krakow (on the way to the Krol) which has a decent comic selection up the back.

The graphic novel that got me back into Slaine again.

Advertised as containing the stories
'Demon-Killer'
'Treasures of Britain One and Two'

Though I know for a fact that....
'Queen of the Witchs'

......was included also.

Incidently the story 'Slaine :The High King' ( Featured in the 1992 annual .) fortells and links up with 'Demon-Killer'

Sort of like a prologue. Though it might have done better if it was thrown in with 'Slaine :Warrior beyond Time'

Jaysus,

Yes he was, but you should know that William Wallace was around before Mel Gibson and it's very probable that the Willaim Wallace in that story was a slightly different intepretation  based on abit of history and abit of myth.

I'm just guessing there. But, I wonder if Pat Mills decided to write this after seeing BraveHeart. Not hard to imagine how this movie could provide further inspiration for another Slaine story.

I'm not so sure of time this at was written and the time the movie was doing the rounds.

I spent a few days in Barcelona last week. I found a nice little comic shop, which was well stocked, if a little light on 2000AD material. Plenty of "El Hombre de Arana" and the like, though.

Pat Mill's comments in his Meg interview are pretty much on the money - they had some lovely hardback Slaine collections on high quality glossy paper with nice matt dustcovers. Really well-produced stuff - think Thrill-Power Overload quality. No 2000AD logo to be seen, though. It was all put out by other publishers.

Does anyone know if Rebellion have looked into putting out translated editions of 2000AD material in Europe? Is there any demand?
Dan Dare will return for a new adventure soon, Earthlets!

Ebay have this one in German selling now.

I had asked the seller if he has a English version.

I really like the cover and I guess it's covering the 'Slaine : Lord of Beasts story'.

Another one I have never read.

If anybody can find the cover scan for this. Please put it up here as the seller has forbidden access to it and I can't otherwise find another good picture of it on this site.

Another one, I have no idea which one it may be.

It could be yet another 'Demon - Killer' or ' Treasures of Britain '

Or anpother copy of last Graphic novel I mentioned here.

I was gonna ask... just to be sure if this is the 'Slaine - & and Secret Commonwealth' graphic novel in German.

Well, seeing as the artist is David Bircham.

It is!

But I figured I'd put it up here anyway. As I'm thinking of buying it.
