...by the awesome Alex Cox (Repo Man, Moviedrome).

...and who was pounced on in the buffet car of a train the day of Dreddcon 5 by a mental bloke wearing hulk pants.

After meeting each other on this very messageboard, this Monday coming marks the 8th anniversary of me and the beautiful Malchidiel becoming a couple. I've had 8 years of sarcasm, piss-takes and being told I smell of wee as well as being loved immensely and cared for so much by (IMO) the loveliest and most sadistic messageboarder ever. The messageboard has come in for a lot of stick over the years, but without it and if she hadn't have been signed up for it, we would never have met. Thanks, Mighty One!

Film & TV / Re: Fright Night (2011) - Trailer

Useless Fright Night-related fact*:

The big-mouthed vampire makeup was originally created for Ghostbusters, when the library ghost transforms, but it was deemed a tad too scary for a PG rated film, so was replaced with the puppet of Dean Gaffney we see in the final cut.

* Due to dodgy memory, may be utter bobbins, though

*Not* an actual entry, as it was used in one of the first comps, but this seems like the right thread for a re-post.

Book-wise, I didn't get very far at all into The Eiger Sanction, which I enjoyed the Eastwood film of, mainly due to its god awful writing. I'm all for cheesy 70s books (I've all but one of the Shaft books), but I draw the line at vomit-inducing stuff like this (which is paraphrased, but basically how it is).

[Female Special Agent] Dr Hemlock, I'm Special Agent (Whatever her name is). I've been assigned to overlook things.

[Hemlock] Yes. I can tell that you will be good.

[Female Special Agent] At my job? I like to think so.

[Hemlock] No. When we make love.

Cue Special Agent getting angry at his comment then immediately doing an about-face and stepping out of her knickers.

The journey to work this morning was like driving across Hoth, but in a Ford Ka instead of a Snow Speeder. :s

The journey home will likely be the same, but with the added danger of darkness.

Malchi and I are going to be there on Saturday, and I'll be attempting to navigate the Leeds one-way system for the first time in the Wilsmobile. Looking forward to seeing peeps and catching up on stuff. I won't be getting any sketches, though, which guarantees I won't be kicking off in queues at the likes of Billy-Two-Sketches and The Amazing Captain Push-in again like the other year. Honest. :)
