Yur - Hoy's great.  I was counting seabirds for some conservation project for a couple of summers, and stayed in the basement of Melsetter House (and the summer house), payment for which involved cutting peat for the heating!  Did you stay in the bothy at Rackwick bay?  What a place!

Anyway, I digress.  I do evolutionary biology stuff, (DNA based) looking at species history and geographical patterns an' that.  Pay's crap, but it's interesting.

I like the screech owl thing.  Reminds me of a mate who was kipping in in the middle of nowhere in the Peak District, and woke up with flashing lights and wierd sounds...  he hought he was being abducted by aliens, but it turned out to be a road-gritting machine.

Hello all.

As a wandering Brit, I had a year working in Oz (Melbourne - hello Floyd)
Assorted climbing trips to France, Germany, Italy, Spain.
Worked in California and Alaska for a year
PhD in Norwich (shurely Norfolk counts as exotic?  It's another WORLD...)
...with fieldwork in the Canary Islands
Then to Norway, with fieldwork in Costa Rica
I'm working in Canada at the mo, with my latest fieldwork on an icebreaker wayyyy up north.
Hopefully off to Svalbard (Spitzbergen) this summer.

All time favourite spot?  Hoy, Orkney Islands. Magic.

Bou - the best thing is that through most of this, my ma worked her behind off, dragging us three kids up alone, and when we were all sorted out, remarried and started catching up - in the past few years she and my step-pop have been to NZ, Canada, China, all over Europe, the US, South America, etc.  Great Stuff - where there's life, there's hope...

Starting to hot up, eh?

Carlos Ezquerra
Gibson goes down as if taken out by a sniper in the stands

Cam Kennedy
Ranson vaped - you're hit, you're dead, etc,

Mike McMahon
Fabry had just got the top off his pen when McMahon handed in his assignment

Kevin O'Neill
McCarthy makes the mistake of wearing his Brit cit uniform to this bout; shoulder pads won't fit through door, O'Neill wins by default

Yours, etc.

Back in 1977, I thought I had a 'close encounter' with what could be described as a flying saucer, but it turned out to be a Space Spinner.

Sorry

Remember Yancy Queeg?  Can anyone remember other characters names?

Anyway, if you do decide to pick this up, it's called 'The Outcasts' rather than 'Outsiders'...
Still not a bad read for a rainy day.  You could also do worse than check out Veitch and Kennedy's 'Light and Darkness War'

A tricky proposition, but I'll go with -

Strontium Dog - Wagner, Bolland (maybe a return to Hell)

Judge Dredd - Grant, McCarthy (something nice and dark, along the lines of Atlantis, or Riders on the Storm, preferably)

Slaine - Morrison, McMahon

ABC Warriors - Mills, Fabry (featuring the original McCarthy Steelhorn please)

Time Twister - Moore, O'Neill

Who will buy my beautiful Prog?  Oh go on.

zzzzzz...Clay, now you're gonna...DIE just like A...Artie!

Looking through the cover zone, I definitely remember picking up progs 68 and 74, but only started buying regularly with prog 200 (and made up that huge poster, so me covers are knacked)

Missed a prog occasionally in pre-subscription days, but I even managed to find them most weeks for a year in Oz back in 1990!

News / Re: Foundry 28mm 2000AD figures !...

Has this page been updated or is my memory like a leaky bucket?  I just don't remember seeing quite a few of the figures on this page when I looked at it last year.  Not that any more are available for purchase, or there's been a price drop, or anything anyway :-p

General / Re: Why the icon?

Finally got my finger out (-plop-) and got an icon sorted.

Ming is short for Mingle (like what I do at parties) which was a made up surname I was awarded a long time ago, to go with the other made up name of Perry, hence Perry Mingle, or Ming.

So, I'm not called Ming for any merciless reasons or despotic tendencies (I think that job is already taken anyway). Neither do I bear any resemblance to the dude from Mongo (unlike the unfortunate in the link, at least he thinks he does) but the icon at least makes things simple...

Happy Birthday, JEB.

And from me, a $25,000,000 gift voucher for Villainsupply.com.  Spend it wisely and let us know what you decided on.

Sorry, should have been more specific - I get the front page okay, but as soon as I click on the 'come awa' in' box, I get the error message (with both Safari and Internet Explorer).  Ho well.  I'll check back later!

Is there a problem with your website?  I tried to have a look, but all I got was a error 404: page not found message...
