How diluted does it have to be before it doesn't count?

In other news: I'm skimming leatherjack. The art isn't what I want from Paul Marshall at all. Hopefully it'll be a longish strip so the tale gets time to be told thoroughly.

You know the "Run, Forrest, run!" segment from Forrest Gump, where his leg braces miraculously disintegrate?  I nearly ended myself laughing at that - I was in total stitches.

But - was it meant to be serious drama?  I could never figure out what the intention was.

Again, it was another generally sound Prog in an increasingly long line of such.

Savage is the thing I find hardest to work with. I enjoy reading reading it, it's a bit of a laugh. But I can't take it seriously. Everything the characters say is so arch and ironic, and the political commentary is laid on so thick, and the deliberate efforts to educate are painful.

The resistance have got tanks to blow up. Is it necessary to say "Look: depleted uranium armour plating. That's realy bad for you, you know?" Hmmm, well, maybe we shouldn't blow it up then, because we'll only be spreading fragments of it around. Perhaps we should live with Volgan occupation instead? Clearly Savage and his comrades are planning on living a very long time, and not expecting to die in their efforts at resistance if they can afford to worry about depleted uranium (which is very bad for you, don'tcha know?)

Hooray for the return of napalm tarmac! Weird that it should be ignited by the weight of a leaflet though. I thought the surface had to be broken by someone stepping on it to bring the flamable substance in contact with the air. But no, a sheet of paper will do. Or maybe an insect landing on it.

Well done Pat for the comedy ending: "I've got syphilis!" - "That's okay, so have I". I guess Savage needs to update his survival manual to take account of the fact that a) Volgans aren't stupid, and b) some rapists even use condoms these days.

And, re: last week's Prog, it's a good job Volgans can't read morse code!

Big raspberries to taking Savage seriously: It's a load of cobblers, and I'll enjoy it as long as it continues to be entertaining.

Oh, and I hardly need add that syphilis can be cured with antibiotics. I imagine that the Volgans can get hold of antibiotics without too much trouble.

i too am shocked at the no abortion rule in MC, disapointed that vienna has gone for the pre-natal adoption job, this leaves too many future storyline frustrating open ends for my liking, id've rather see the pregnancy & what dredd would do about it & wether the sprog would look like cloony or van deisel or indeed dredd.

i'm loving the new artists on dredd last week & luna-wotsit.
