Madrigal was conceived as a much older character, in her 70s or older, but Headey won over Alex Garland, the screenwriter and a key engine of project, to the idea of a middle-aged woman who has logged a lot of city miles.

Now that is a shocking waste of a great-looking woman. I like it!
Good find Crave Noir!
A bit of research into Dredd on the writer's part might have been nice. 'Peacegiver'? Really? Nonetheless, good article. Headey seems well into it so that's very encouraging.
Great stuff!
Lena certainly looks the part!
Good find Crave! I think shes underrated as an actor, hope she gives it her all in the part I believe she will deliver. :)
I like the description of the blocks as concrete favalas. And if Lena is as much a bitch as she is in Game Of Thrones then her character could be quite impressive.
Cool! Nice find.

Bloody hell, just read the article and his comment, he get everywhere, does he?
Impressive scars!
Is that a Judge or two in the blurred background?
It's weird.. To see her on set you wouldn't really notice her.. Then she turned on the scowl and scared the living crap out of us..
Yay! Something. Something good.
at last a bit of news :D

He really latched onto the 'shanty town' comment and budget didn't he? I never quite took her literally there. All seemed a good example of blowing things out of proportion and taking things out of context.... or seeing what he wanted to see to support his own agenda.
Of course, for all we know, it could look bad, but from what I've seen, I have high hopes.
And that scar actually looks rather disturbing! And I hardly recognise her in that Cersei get-up!
All she was saying was that each block was a shit pit giving a shanty town vibe to them. Well that's what it came across to me as.
But twatto will find anything to snag onto for negativity.

Funny - I thought favelas would be a good look for a real-world slum...

Not really seen enough of the environment to make much of a call, the best look has been that interior of the camera rigs from inside the set.
Lena Headley will be going to comic con stated on her FB page yesterday.
Yeah, but that could easily be for Game of Thrones...
