Not really a fan of either.

Ampney Crucis on the basis it took out one of my all time favourite Meg series in the Simping Detective in an earlier round.

ABC Warriors for me. At it’s best it was as good as anything published in the Prog. When not, at least it has some nice pictures.

Only the first series of Skizz really holds up for me, and even then it’s not as good as other stuff Alan Moore did for Tharg.

Just love Insurrection. It’s in my top three all time Megazine thrills. But it’s not quite at the level of Nemesis The Warlock.

I was never a big Low Life fan until Trifecta. But what was great about that was the way Dredd, The Simping Detective and Low Life came together. But Low Life was the weakest of the three for me.

The Out is only my 6th (or there abouts) Dan Abnett strip. But it’s easily good enough here.

“Vape a Geek today”.

Yeah it’s got to be the VCs.

Plus how cool is that ship?

Strontium Dog.
I'm also going to go against received wisdom and say that I don't think that there was ever a bad Stront story.

Oh no, there definitely is one. I’m off on hols at the moment so can’t look it up, but there was one from (I think) a Starlord annual that was reprinted in the Search and Destroy collection. It’s uncredited to both writer and artist and Johnny is pretty much unrecognisable from the character that we know and love, acting completely out of character. It’s so bad the writer and artist are probably glad they weren’t credited.

Slaine was going to be my number two in this tournament, but Strontium Dog is my number one.

Halo Jones.

Bad Company.

For series one and the character designs. Especially Kano.

The very best of modern 2000AD.

I love Feral and Foe and would rather see it in the Prog. It’s an important strip for the future of the Prog.

But I have to consider the sheer volume of Sinister Dexter and it’s importance to the last two and a half decades of the Prog, and the role it played in ensuring its continued existence after a difficult period.

Plus at its best, it was very, very good.

Another consideration is that new thrills haven’t yet had time to run out of ideas and so don’t suffer from that in the way some longer running ones do.

So overall I’m going for Sinister Dexter.

Meltdown Man.

Ampney Crucis.

Best thing about it was Simon Davis art.

Low Life. Mainly for Trifecta.
