'Black Dosser' sounds dodgy to me, racist stereotyping in comics we can well do without

Man Eye.
Ony because I had a dream about superheroes when I was about 7 and this chap was in it, with a big Eye logo on his chest. He had an ally called the Centaur, who was, in fact, a centaur. Not bad for a 7-year-old's subconscious, if I do say so myself

Look, there's a policeman talking to a man dressed up as a rabbit.

Sorry, have I understood the rules of this competition properly?

This has got me thinking: I was about 16 when I read Deadline, and really liked it. But I think if it had survived to this day it would bore the living bejesus out of me. I remember as a teenager thinking that i didn't 'get' how good and sophisticated the mature readers stories in Crisis were too; having recently re-read a few of them I realised that a lot of them were just a bit crap.
As for Wasted, i stopped smoking spliffs not because of any moral or health-conscious stance but because i really couldn't be arsed any more. Haven't read this but it doesn't draw me at all. Heh, draw, do you get it

Yeah, i forgot about him! Still going strong about 20 years on (?). I haven't seen Keanu 'nice but dim' Reeves as him, but I'm not sure I want to.

General / Alan Grant on alan Moore

Right, this isn't a big 'Oo, the bearded one can do no wrong' thread. I agree with Alan Grant on Tom Strong being a bit shit. I also think that Lost Girls looks a bit ropey, though i agree with the idea of thinking man's porn (why not)?
Anyway if memory serves me, Grant in the Megazine says that Moore isn't good at coming up with characters, his talent lies in using established ones.
I say, 'me hole'. Allow me to list a few classic characters: Halo Jones, Swifty Frisco (possibly an inspiration on my avourite comedian ever, Chris Morris), Luiz Cannibal, DR and Quinch, V, Evey, Rorschach, the Comedian, and Dr Manhattan.
So dinnae gie's it, Grant, ya radge (as I believe the Scots would say).

The other day I saw a woman lying on the pavement, obviously the victim of a hit-and-run accident. I stood and watched for ten whole minutes, and not one - NOT ONE - person went to her aid. I went on my way, disgusted at the apathy of my fellow passers-by. Is this what society has come to?

(Okay, that didn't happen. i stole it from the Viz letters page.)

Scuse the multiple post but I forgot to say, nice one, mogzilla! Good to see a more positive counterpart to my own bitter, twisted idea for a thread. had actually planned to start a thread like this myself but clean forgot.

The summer offensive - incuding Big Dave (loved it and it also got my friend reading 2000ad.) I know i'm setting myself up for a kicking but i also liked Inferno (A very welcome break from Ennis, though the ending was a bit shit) and Really and Truly (just a lot of weird and druggy fun, not too far from my nights out back in those days). The only thing I didn't like was Maniac 5.

I also liked the V for Vendetta Movie a lot. And Judge Dredd in Helter Skelter.
