I was thinking about starting a band with lyrics all based in 2000ad. Has there every been something like that?

I was googling and found this. It's pretty old though.

Kind of funny music. The singing often sounds like the band Arcwelder. Btw, anyone like that amazing band?

There have been plenty of 2000AD-inspired songs, but I don't know of a band dedicated entirely to them.
AIEEEEEE! It's the...THING from the HELL PLANET!

The crazy blokes from the ska band MADNESS, did a side project a long way back.
Fink Brothers - Mutants in mega City-1.

I've always struggled to like this band, but this was pretty cool. That would have been pretty rad to be reading 2000ad in '86 and listening to this fresh from the record store

COLIN why is this not put on the recent Advent? You must have done this a good few years ago before I joined!

I'll listen to this tomorrow and I'll expect you to post this on this year's Advent when the time come 👍🏻🎅🏻

Ha! Its old news but this seemed like a good time. When I get the chance I'll dig out the 'other side' of the mix tape with less obvious tracks.
I'll see if I can find the mix-tape cover I made for it as well.

sheridan

I have an index of 2000ad-related music, which I update as and when (so I'll have to carefully go over this thread to see if there's anything to add that I was previously unaware of).

Barrington Boots

When I was at college some friends and I messed around in a band called Gut-8 after the character in Beyond Zero. Terrible stuff.
You're a dark horse, Boots.

Tjm86

Aye but what was the band like?

Barrington Boots

Ha! Not as good as Beyond Zero!
You're a dark horse, Boots.

Halo Jones is one I have not read yet. Maybe this track will make more sense when I do

Another one I have not read yet! This video is crazy.
1st of all, is this major key goth early industrial? I love how major key was still on the table for this stuff in the early days. It's a fun happy little nightmare.

Did this music actually scare parents back in the day?

This is a missed Beavis and Butthead opportunity.

Then the singer shows up and it's like that movie warlock oddly enough.

This guy gives off vibes like an early adopter of BDSM.

I really do respect a true music video like this where they try to show at least some kind of imagery that matches up with the music/words.
