Memorabilia 31st March- 1st April at the NEC

It's not Hi-Ex, and for that fact we must weep, but if folks are looking for some comic action this weekend and live in the West Midlands (you can come from further away if you like) then be aware that this weekend is Memorabilia at the NEC.

And there's more, they have added a comic con to the proceedings it appears. No idea what this entails but as the tickets the same price anyway no skin off the old nose to check it out.

Anyway to summarize: Not going to Hi-Ex? Boo-Hoo. Memorabilia (31st March- 1st April at the NEC) an option (more for those in the West Midlands)

I'm afraid guys like Memorabilia don't play well with the rest of the convention organisers...

Same with Cardiff Con and the London one on the same day , and Kapow and Bristol only 1 week apart.

What bugs me is how tricky it seems to be to find out about these things in advance.

I can't get to an event unless I can book travel / accommodation at least a few months in advance. My finances just don't permit me to do that sort of thing. There's a good number of these conventions I'd liek to get along to in due course, but without a bit of warnng, it ain't gonna happen.

(Note that I'm still new to the whole convention scene - maybe I'm overlooking something glaringly obvious. i do stuff like that.)

A lot of them have their own facebook pages. If you 'like' the page then you should be able to get info about upcoming events.

As far as I'm aware , Kapow is next followed a week later by Bristol con. Both are toward the latter part of May.

Unfortunately, neither are on my 'to do' list this year for financial reasons.

The one I was waiting for news on was the Birmingham Comic Con - which took place last year under the name of BC2011. I'd have hoped for more news of that one by now.
