Film & TV / Help me hivemind!

A respectful request for information on a half-remembered animation short I saw many years ago. Please bear with me on this one:

The animation is probably British. It features a boy and possibly his dog walking along reading a comic. As he walks a very 'cartoony' vampire tries to attck him, changing into a bat at various points. At the end we get to see inside the comic that the boy is reading. It's full of true animated 'horror' scenes of people getting shot, tortured and the like. At this point the cartoon ends as the boy trips over the words 'The End' and the scene freezes with him in a very awkward pose half on the floor.

Any help identifying this is welcome!

Hot on the heels of the UK Citizen test I now find I can't drive to the deportation center.

35 out of 50

Oh bugger.

Help! / A Rogue Trooper question for the Hivemind
22 April, 2009, 07:27:51 AM
Now this is something I've been wondering since I first saw this image way, way back for the first time. It's from the Rogue Trooper story where bagman gets hit and goes a little la-la. The panel shows him un-packing the contents of his bag and while I can work out what the items are one has flummuxed me from the start.
It's labeled as 'Atmo-Keak' and I've marked it on the image below for reference.

What is it? What does it do? Help!

General / Npod

I always wondered if it was possible to etch this wonderful image so that it could be added to the back of an Ipod. Based on the below test the answer is 'yes':

Acid etch on steel plate. The copper colour is extra lighting to bring out some of the detail. Steel is a swine to photograph.

Website and Forum / Board Time Setting

It may just be me, but I think the board time stamp for messages is out by about 20 minutes? I know it doesn't make a big difference...just mentioning it :)

Welcome to the board / Hello!

Hi there

Well, I read 2000AD from issue number one right up until the mid 1990's when, to be delicate, it went a bit pants.

Clearing out the lock-up a few weeks back I re-discovered all the old issues/annuals/Sci-Fi specials and, now being of an age where I have little else to do, I decided to have a read of them. I was amazed at the quality of the stories and artwork even after all this time (yes, I know there are a fair few duds in the early days!). This further prompted me to buy the missing issues (well, most of them anyway) and catch up to date with things. I will say I am impressed, although Judge Dredds theme in the early 00's should have been 'I get knocked down, but I get up again..'. I mean, just how much abuse can a man of that age take; there's hope for me yet :)

Anyway, thought I'd pop my head in here and see what's going on. What I would have given for a forum like this back in the 1970's!
