C'mon Scojo, it's an obvious reference to Anderson in the original Judge Death.

C'mon, it was the Terminator for the Nineties! Well that's what the poster claimed anyway. Maybe Hardware was a bad example. But it's so typical of us fan boys to start slagging off any Dredd film project because we are simply too protective (even obsessive) over old stoney face. I just want us to give the producers a break. I don't think the same mistakes will be repeated. C'mon, lets ease up a bit here. Sometimes I think we wouldn't even trust the original creators to work on Dredd.

Anyway, I still want to see Carry On Judging made into a film.

This is one hot topic of conversation. I've got to add though that I think it is better for the film to be low budget. For one look at Pear Harbour, big budget, shit film. So big budgets don't go hand in hand with quality film making. Look at Hardware. Low budget, excellent film and it was based on Shokk by Pat Mills & kev O'Neil. Also, look at the advances made in TV Sci-Fi: Babylon 5, StarGate etc all have lower budgets than Starwars yet still manage to look really convincing. I don't think any film company would attempt to revive a flopped license if they didn't think they could pull it off with gusto. Independents aren't in the habit of chucking money away for the sake of it. Lets face it, for the non 2Kad viewing audience these films will carry all the baggage of the Stallone movie. So a new production company  aren't going to take on the Dredd license if they didn't feel pretty confident of winning back the audience. I can't wait to see the results.

The unofficial word is that Garth Ennis is scripting the plot for the movies, so they can't be crap can they...

(Unofficial meaning made up)

If you will regain editorial control can I be in it then? Maybe you could run a competion for loyal squaxx de thargo to appear in the background. A bit like those Friends competions that run on Radio One from time to time.

Who does the editorial team want to play Dredd?

Just out of interest Scojo,  where did you get too?

Yep! Killer is a return to the old school style story telling that brought us Mean Arena and the appalling sequel which just featured that talking Pantha Henry Moon. In fact it reminds me a little of  that kak strip which is currently running in the Meg. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that Killer is also going to be a computer game.

Logans email got me quite interested in the film company producing the 2 new Dredd films so i decided to pay it a visit. H'mmm...I've not heard of a single one of the films on its website or many of the actors that starred in them. I think Billy Dee Williams is the biggest name in them! Judging by the obscurity of the titles in Shorelines portfolio, I think the new films (if they are ever made) might just be straight to video releases.

Anyway who needs a new Dredd movie when we've got Wagners current masterpiece shaping up in 2Kad. What does everyone else make of it?

Maybe we'll find him on a newly created planet just like Spock in StarTrek "The Search for Spock" and he'll rejoin our merry band of pundits.

I think it's since Scojo went AWOL. Maybe he decided to follow Friday into that black hole. He'll probably return in a year or twos time with a totally different name and a John Tomlinsin script deciding his fate. Come back Scojo.

How about Slaines first warp spasm in The Horned God. The final fullpage panel of The Deadman holding up Dredds badge. The final page in Song of the Surfer (Chopper really should have died there instead of coming back to that awful Earth, Wind & Fire series), Bollands Judge Fish & Russian "I am the Law" covers for the Eagle Dredd reprints. The iconic Dredd Badge with bleeding bullet hole cover from  The Apocalypse War. McMahons Cursed Earth Cover. And the ultimate Gaze into the Fist of Dredd.

Wagner achieves in one episode of Dredd what Garth Ennis couldn't manage in 12 - Plot, Tension, Atmosphere & Forboding. This looks like it's shaping up to be every bit as good as America, Mechanismo & The Pit. Can't wait to see how it shapes up. Hey, hasn't Hersey recovered from her recent crucifixation quite quickly!

Love Colin Wilson on Tor Cyan, although I sometimes find that John Tomlinsons scripts are a bit disjointed. One minute Tor's swimming into a volcanic vent about to boil himself to death & then in the blink of an eye he's back on the surface & it's all over. How did that happen then? Am I not reading this right? What was the purpose of this episode?

And where is Scojo? The message board is a lot quieter recently. Did all you guys get kidnapped by the Dictators of Zragg at DreddCon 2? C'mon post.
