Yeh I really enjoyed 'A Scanner Darkly'. Sad at the end tho but moving. Got it via that 'Sci-fi Masterworks' series thats reprinting a lot of the old greats.
Another one of his they've reprinted is 'Ubik' which I promise is another truly fantastic book.

Arthur, do you know a good Bio of the great man then ? I saw a documentary on him on the TV a few years ago and it sounded like his life story might make a good read.

PKD was a real nutcase & drug fiend. There's a good article in todays 'Guardian' Guide on him that includes this nice quote that made me chuckle...

"I have written and sold 23 novels, and all are terrible except one. But I'm not sure which one."

Yeh I started getting Xmen cos of FQ's art (and all the fuss over GM). But the fill-in artist's they use for the 2 issues in 3 that FQ can't do are so godawful that I've stopped getting it , even tho' the story wasnt too bad. I mean the fill-in guys were/are just *terrible*, not even average.

And there's nothing worse than finding you've spent 2 hours chatting up a pre-operative transsexual, in my experience.

Just to say I've been reading the first 2 issues of 'Lone Wolf 2010' (Dark Horse), a kinda futuristic cyberpunk re-working of the 'Lone Wolf and Cub' classic.
Anyway, despite my mis-givings I'm very much enjoying it - great art and a cool plot to go with it.
Act. w/be perfect for a reprint in the Meg.
Best new thing in ages (until LOXG 2 comes out next week or whenever).

Also picked up a 'risker' in the shape of a small press comic called 'Nether - The Age Of Maga' which looked interesting in the shop but as I look at it now may well have been a terrible mistake...

Anyone seen the stills of DD & Elektra from the forthcoming 'Daredevil' film ? I've gotta say they don't look too good IMO - I mean since when did DD wear leather ?? . Just hope they arent gonna murder my all-time fave story arc.

Actually ,when you think about it, did H*** J**** have such a bad time ??
