We watched this last night and I thought it was fucking brilliant.

I hope they keep Scotty's comedy alien sidekick- he was great. And the young child (well, from my perspective) playing Kirk was excellent- he had just the right amount of Shatner swagger going on there. Plus he sexed a green lady.

I watched this for the first time Friday night, gobsmacked, it's absolutely spot on. I know people had been going on about how good it was, but that still didn't prepare me for just how fucking awesome it really is.

I just found this online from an early draft of the script. It's the part of the film that would have featured William Shatner if that had worked out. I remember thinking during the making of the film that having original Kirk in it wouldn't have worked as well as Spock Prime did, but reading this scene, I'm sorry they didn't leave it in after all.
