Hi to you all!
I'm new to this site as although I have looked before I haven't registered until now. I'm a big fan of the 2000AD characters (obviously) and recently have been crafting my own Judge Costume. Thought you might like to see how i'm doing so far, any comments would be greatly appreciated. Drokk it!

Hello there!
That's looking good.
El Lopo (Quinch on the 2000AD review board) is doing something similar for a fan film he's making.

Bouwel

Hi :)
Nice work there!

Hi and welcome - That uniform looks great! All it needs is one of Wake's replica Dredd badges to top it off. What are the shoulder pads made of?

TordelBack

Very nice work, but I'm not sure about all that product in the hair.  A judge should be clean and upright, no more - it's not a beauty contest.  Welcome!

Judge Palmer

Sorry about the hair guys, too much gel i'm afraid, (needs cutting anyway so short and neat it will be afterwards lol)

Seriously the pads are made from high density foam gym mats, the same as the interlocking mats you can buy from ebay or argos. They come in sizes 2ft x 2ft or 4ft x 4ft. These are very flexiable, easy to cut and work with. All of the eagle pad is made from this foam. Once you have the initial eagle wing, head, feathers and claws drawn and sized out on paper then card then it's easy to use these as stencils to cut your shapes out on the foam. I used a bolt on the top right on the front and back of the pad through to the inside of the jacket and fastned with a nut. This way when you lift the arm the pad moves easily without coming away from the jacket. Elastic is then fitted to the bottom corners and again fastened through the jacket enabling the pad to return to it's original position rather than being stuck in the air. Hope this info helps!

Welcome chap, nice work on the uniform.

Hi guys, here are some pic's of the finished helmet as promised. I have left the masking tape on the visor 'cos i'm waiting for my clear protective topcoat to arrive in the post to spray on to give the paint that added protection!!
